Actually, the OP was wondering if NPC corp members were KOS or not right in the post above mine - so I posted an actual incidence when I was killed by CVA pets whilst I was in an NPC corp and was still reimbursed.

Thus the standing rule is: if your last corp previous to the NPC corp is red, you're still KOS. Unfortunately that makes it hard to distinguish legitimate cases like yours. I'm glad to hear that you were reimbursed, though.

Yeah - I think I only was reimbursed because the corp I was killed for wasn't even KOS at the time I left it and I could prove that I was in a medium sized neutral corp since then.

Simply put you SHOT first. He most likely just ejected to save his pod, and back up was most likely already on the way. You were neutral and acted in a aggressive manner. Always check out the pilot before you shoot if in Providence. Otherwise face the consequences of your actions.

I try to be nice and mind my business just shooting lasers at rocks. There is just way too many asshats in New Eden for that to happen.

It was lowsec empire, he was red. Im not exactly concerned if it was CVA who claim to be NRDS.
Would have still shot him for being 'pirate'/red and taking up an offensive possition within our formation and locking us up. Its was preemptive self defence Lol.

If an armed man enters your house in the middle of the night and you find him in your childs bedroom. Are you going wait before shooting, to first confirm that its not your neighbor just looking to borrow some surgar and got lost on his way to the kitchen? Perhaps wait till he shoots you first? Lol

Which is why I ask... is this some form of CVA bait. I understand the concept of not shooting neutrals because they not bothering anyone and just going about their business. But someone thats -10 warping into the middle of your gang does not in my book appear as someone without an agenda or unlikely to engage you FIRST. (otherwise... how would he have been neg sec in the first place). The consequences of such where quite apparent. He lost a ship, then we GTFO and ran very fast as a blob landed on us. Thankfully they failed to point anyone, as we where already aligned to **** off due to sentry guns chewing us up.

Im not going to continue the fasade that we where not there to aggress anyone, Im not going to lie, we where there hoping to get a nibble from a flashy red or anyone else for that matter who'd actively try to engage us. The location in particular because well, alot of gank squads enter provi through that system to hunt bears. So hostile trafic was garrenteed.

Just didn't expect the flashy to be a CVA member, and question what appeared to be a dubious albiet very clever criminal aggression transfer tactic. Had it been all innocent like, he had no reason to loose his ship, he could have warped to 0 and jumped, we would not have followed. His support jumped in the moment he ejected perhaps even before. The time it took to take out his ship was from lock to pop was like 30 seconds I didnt even have enough time to burn an ab rifter 30km fast enough to get on the kill. Its not like he had 5minutes to scream in intel channels for help & a gang to form up. It felt like it was staged in a typical bait and gank fasion, thats all im sayin' :P

Although there is absolutely nothing wrong with your assesment either. He very well could have seen a gang on scan by the gate, and warped in at range to check as he just wanted to get through without being tackled on the other side, and just happend to via bad luck, land on the majority of our gang, while scouting for his fleet.

And Im certainly not complaining, got what we came for... well I didn't but was fun all the same.

I have always been a bit skeptical of NRDS in null sec regardless of which alliance or region.

A lot of the time CVA and friends just seem to be making the rules up as they go along.

Their space, they can do what they like really.Pirate
