Old Stargate Sounds

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9vTmzNeJMkk Who wants the old stargate sounds back? I like them better then the ones we have right now, since they are cooler. To some people it seems annoying but CCP can change them a LITTLE bit but not change them completly from the heart pmping star gate sounds. Who agrees and who dis-agrees?

The old ones just had so much more life and depth to them, gates firing felt epic and kickass, like you were being shot across the galaxy.

Now you just kinda plop through them >.<

I actually agree. These old sounds were awesome.

The one at 20sec and the one after it are definitely the best :D

My curiosity delves to what exactly made them change the Stargate sounds to begin with. They were fine as is. Perhaps a muffled spfffp-shpeewp was proven in some obscure psychological survey to be more appealing the masses.

Hm... I wonder what an 8-bit audio revamp would be like.

Yes please give old stargate sound back

or have it as an option or make the sound files accessible like the EVE audio so you can change it yourself :)

I don't know, they sound like they are coming from an 8-bit game. CCP is trying to bring the game into this new decade, not keep it in the previous one. Their massive efforts to make the game more visually appealing reflect this.

Although I love the volume and intensity of the stargate sounds. If they were a bit more hi-res they would be perfect!

Watch_ Fred Fred Frederation_ and stop [u]cryptozoologist[/u]! Fight against the brutal genocide of fictional creatures across New Eden! Is that a metaphor? Probably not, but the fru-fru- people will sure love it!

This is the main reason I liked them so much. The current ones don't sound like they can send you several light years away. Making the current sounds more intense, or replace them with better quality versions of the old sounds would be great. Though I don't mind the somewhat outdated sound of the old sounds. It's like the sheer power of the stargate is twisting the sound or something.

At about 20 seconds, that gives me chills. I love the techno-babble and the cannon blast.

That's a Templar, an Amarr fighter used by carriers.

I would appreciate these sounds back. They got a more memorable cooler sound than the current ones.

CCP could keep the slow-mo bubble dip sound for wormhole jumps, and assign us a more spectacular sound of the old jump effects for stargates.

If 30 pages of cries to bring back the old capital jump effect didn't work, I doubt they'll pay any attention to this request.

Sound effects in general just need an update, but yeah, these stargate sound effects are way better than the single sound effect that we have now.

The old sounds were so much better. I miss the Eve Mail noise too, is there even a replacement?
