I have gotten 2 crashes, both right after docking, just about at the time the "loading" message would go away. The crashes put up a window saying things like "runtime error", so I assume they generated a crash report. (CCP, is that working for the Mac?)

MacBook Pro
OSX 10.6.8
8 gig
Nvidia GeForce GT 330M

Have graphics all high (preset "Quaity")
Turn on CQ
Dock at a high sec Amarr station (Zoar & Sons is where I was docking)
It does not happen every time.

I have not found a workaround.

Right off the bat I can reproduce 100% crashing the game by doing the following:

Hitting escape at any screen (login included) and selecting "windowed" instead of fullscreen causes the window resizing to proceed... and then the game quits.

Every. Single. Time.

I haven't even played the game yet - this is pretty bad.

OS X 10.7 Lion
Mac Pro 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Xeon
10GB Ram
ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024mb

The bug reported 17 months ago, #99612, is still with us. This is the "red station" bug, where some stations appear bright red. For an example:

Set graphics to "Optimize for Quality" preset
Go to Imya, Gergish stargate and look at the ruined station near it.

MacBook Pro
Nvidia GeForce GT 330M
8 gig
OSX 10.6.8

Workaround: low graphics settings

Confirmed on my MBP. I would not have found it as it does not happen if I switch using command-return, which seems to be a viable workaround. Also the error produced is

Unhandled page fault on write access to 0x000000000 at address 0x7c361fa3

This is the same error I get when it crashes on docking. That one seems to have the workaround of lowering the graphics settings. But low graphics settings does not stop the bug reported by DeVore.

as you claimed that this patch would be "full of win" but none of the issues that matter have been corrected and you've known about them for well over a month. the constant freezing of the client hasn't gotten any better. WHAT ARE YOU GUYS DOING? I'm sick and tired of posting about this same problem, where you ask us to post system specs and such and NOTHING gets done no reply from the dev team about this, why isn't there even a mention about this problem in the patch notes, it's like you totally ignored the issue

My client is now freezing every few minutes. Didn't happen in Crucible 1.0. Have to go into bootcamp to do anything serious now. X

CCP any response? I'd really like to not have my game crash when I try and run it in Windowed mode.

But in other news, it does seem to run a tad faster now - I wonder if the way the new neocom bar does transparency is why.

I had this too before this patch; I haven't played long enough with the new patch to confirm it's gone. Really, really frustrating - I'd be sitting in a station with just some chat windows open and every few seconds the game would freeze, for several seconds.

It's kind of sad really - I can run Battlefield 3 at the highest resolution, with all graphic details turned to max, and not have any problems, yet this game freezes just showing me a spaceship spinning around and typing in a chat window.

Interesting turn of events.

Have two separate clients that I use frequently.

I patched the first, and then applied the second patch. Closed EVE, restarted and splash screen appears.

Splash Screen disappears, and EVE Icon sits in the Taskbar at the bottom of my Desktop while the grey bar at the top of my Desktop says EVE Online.

But no EVE login screen or anything appears. Its like EVE is running but is not visually apparent, can move mouse, click on other programs or items on my desktop, all at very reduced opening time and slow mouse speed. Its like EVE is running, but I just can't see it.

Any one else experiencing these problems?

By taskbar do you mean, the dock? Or are you posting a Windows issue on the mac forums? :) I have noticed this very quickly in my issue, but usually the game quits fast enough that it only lasts a second or two before the game goes away.

Yes, the Dock. I am an idiot, had been working on windows software all day today lol.

And the game doesn't go away, but I know what your talking about. It just kind of "hangs" there.

Having exactly the same problem. No clue on how to fix it. Can't access anything in the game. Just have a menu bar and an active dock icon.

The game was running fine this morning when I patched. I rebooted once during that time, and it again started up fine. There doesn't seem to be any reason for this sudden change. And yes, I have rebooted since experiencing the problem.

Late 2011 MacBook Pro (8,3 I think), with OS X Lion 10.7.2.

Works great for me, but I consider the flashing chat button on the neocom that cannot be removed--the only one that can't be removed--as a bug. why would anyone want a constantly flaming reminder of chats. If that was an intentional design decision someone should be fired. Also, the generic "i" icons on the neocom are terrible--there needs to be a visual cue so you don't pick the wrong icon at a bad time. Imagine the windows task bar--I have to use windows at work--if every icon was identical--ugh. Bad choice--or a bug. I like to think a bug.

I fixed the problem by deleting the entire "EVE Online" folder in the Users|Library| "Application Settings" folder. Probably didn't need to delete all of it, but it worked. I kept copies of the User and Character prefs files (but not the Public or main ones), and put them back in the folder after installing 1.1 update #2.

Christ Jesus, thank you Eldaris Ix, that fixed it. Unsure why though. Thank you so much.
