I cannot believe you went with that 'like' crap. It is not like the first bot that can do that stuff has not appeared already.

100 'likes' to qualify? maybe you missed the little script someone had a week or two ago on here that could spam a stupid high number of likes, or maybe you fixed the forums so that doesnt work anymore... Just sayin if you haven't then that's pretty laughable way to work already.

another recipe for vote manipulation and a fail CSM

I ask this of everyone,

"Do you have a better idea, how is your idea workable, and how does your idea fulfill the objectives that led to the creation of the CSM?"

personally the ISD and the forums should be a better place to bounce ideas for for game development... hell make the csm a special branch of the ISD (for the NDA discussions... but the csm should not be the final word for players... the forums and our wallets should be)

Hey, when the final listing of candidates appear can we have the option of voting "None of the above"?

In all seriousness this time...

Why not have simple polling questions, maybe something like 3-5 true/false or multiple choice questions, that pop up every time one logs into the game? These can be compiled into workable data and the players will be directly representing themselves without the need for anyone to unfairly push an agenda. The questions themselves can be written by CCP Devs or the players themselves if a space was provided at the bottom of the poll, and the answers should be gathered in a confidential manner so players can feel free to be as honest as possible. Given an option to answer any, or all, or none of those questions would show interest on those particular points being polled and CCP could thus do away completely with the CSM and deal directly with it's player base in an informed and non invasive fashion.
The idea of censoring questions will no doubt be raised, but I think it best to not censor any of the questions and let the chips fall where they may- it might well be yet another truly unique innovation in human interaction via gamespace for EVE to claim.

I have never felt less desire to vote in the CSM elections than I have in my 4 years in EVE. Whoever CCP wants to win, will win. EVE is going to see another year of nullbear buffs, and nerfs to anyone who would challenge their RMT empires.

here is an idea make the voting for CSM like the character creation screen... pretty much on voting days after logging in you have the voting screen load... after you vote then you load the game... (an abtation option would be available to those who really dont want to vote...) but i am sure you will have a much more representational account for the players wishes...)

Trebor's blog wrote:
"It is simply this: unless you can honestly say that you have 1000 votes locked up and in the bag, running for CSM just increases the voting power of the organized blocs. You need to have a constituency behind you already."

Wouldn't it be fairer to say that unless you have 1000 votes already in the bag, you're going to have to get out there and properly campaign, debate with your competitors in some public manner, sell yourself to the masses, rather than just vomit up a halfarsed blog and JPSC thread and leave it at that?

So 1/3 click something at random to make the silly random screen keeping them from their spaceships go away, 1/3 click the (in their view) prettiest avatar pic, 25% click the ugliest trollface because LOLOLOLOLOL, and the remainder make some sort of educated decision. Pretty much the same as at present just on a larger scale really, altho I'm probaly overexagerating the % that make any sort of educated/reasoned decision. If the vast majority of EVE dont care enough to get involved atm, they wont care any more if you shove it under their noses.

Also wtf is wrong with this forum atm? Typing this the text comes out at about 1/4 the speed I type whilst being interupted by the page semi-reloading frequently...

Kelduum, even though you and I don't have any love lost, I am glad to see you are running.

It is becoming clear that those that run the CSM are gaining an increasingly larger sway on the direction of Eve.
With CCP more receptive to community ideas, it is paramount that a high sec bloc on the CSM exist to defend the interests of the high sec majority.

In a perfect world, you, Chribba, and someone from the BTL/TDF leadership would get in.
That is extremely unlikely to happen, given Goons have 6000 votes plus alts to work with.

But I do hope that high sec people realize that this game may change radically if the CSM is dominated again by null sec interests.
