Character model pink/purple or blue/grey in CQ

I realise this has been addressed in at least one previous thread - however the solution there has not worked for me and I can't find any other references to it. So my apologies for raising it again.

Fairly consistently, whenever I load Captain's Quarters, my character avatar appears in the wrong colours. It's either a sort of scary electric pink/purple, with a shiny texture rather like plastic over hair, skin and clothing; or (more unsettlingly if viewed late at night) it's a sort of corpse-like dark blue skin with translucent grey* hair and mainly grey clothing. It's more often the pink version.

I've tried a couple of suggestions, including updating my graphics drivers and clearing my cache (the latter being the solution offered in the last thread on this), but neither has made any difference. I wondered if anyone had any idea what might be causing this and how I might fix it.

I'm using EVE on Steam and my GFX card is an nVidia GeForce GTX 460. Any advice gratefully received.

I haven't logged in except to change skills in a couple of weeks and am having the same issues. I would welcome ANY help on this, I couldn't find the pertinent threads

Also just checked my alts on this account, and they are rendering fine, not sure what to make of this.

Me, too.

I have an alt who's also rendering okay - so far, anyway.

My running hypothesis is that it's somehow affected by the settings I've applied: hair colour and such.. It does seem to happen more with certain colours than others. But I haven't tested this scientifically so I can't say if theres really any relationship there.

Also, when I go to Recustomisation and remove clothes (careful, now), bits of me keep disappearing. If I take my jacket off my arms vanish. Kick off the shoes and I have no feet. Lucky I'm a cap pilot and all I need's a spine with a brain on it...

I was able to finally fix this, I went into the Display and graphics tab and hit "optimize settings" then set it to "performance" it was set on the highest setting before and ran fine. One of the patches must have pushed my little Alienware over the edge (M11x). It now works with either of the two lower settings but purple gumby avatar returns if I set it to high.

Excellent, Thank you very much for that. I'll give it a try shortly and see if it works for me, too.
