Sacrilege revisited

It's the only ship that can't hit at more then 35km without wasting one of the bonuses. Please extend the bonuses to Heavy Missile Launchers or boost the Heavy Assault Missiles.

What was an original good idea with the Khanid boost from some years ago was completely trashed whit the HAM nerf. The ship is hardly used at all due to the fact that is completely unable to fight at medium range, even well known ships for CR Figths like the Deimos can be fited for Medium/LR engagements.

All other ships can fit Long or Close range weapons and still use their bonuses except ... The sacrilege.

Um, pretty sure all Kahnid ships (Sac, Vengence, Heretic, and the Legion missile sub if you want to count that) are only bonused for the short-range missiles of their class. I'm pretty sure they're designed to be brawlers, not snipers.

The Sac currently has the best potential tank out of any of the HACs, it works really well as a close range brawler. HAMs probably could use a review, possibly a little more damage, and a review of the T2 missile variants.

The question is that the Sacrilege is the only HAC that really can't attack from medium range. ALL the others can. Before the HAM nerf they could do it if using Javelin missiles sacrificing their speed. Now, even with Javelin's loaded you will reach 30km tops.

True that has the best potential tank but being armor based make them slower then their shield counter parts and the HAM nerf was so badly applied that you have to be at least at 13-15km to be able to hit your opponent. If you want hit at longer ranges you will have to use javelins that will make you ships velocity drop close to 1000 m/s (A shield Tempest/Typhoon will be faster Shocked), but tbh to gain 10Km in range and loose about 40% of your speed is not an option.

A boost in HAM's or extend the damage bonuses to missiles instead of only applicapble to HAMs would do the trick also.

I think you're really looking at the Cerb if you want a ranged HAM setup. Of course it's tank isn't as good but you really can't expect a ship that does it all, there has to be some tradeoffs. The Sac is very much a specialized ship, but it is very good at what it's designed to do, you lock-down targets within web/scram range and just hump their leg until they go down. Even if they have a few friends it's not a problem since you can probably rep through their damage. The only other HACs that can come close to doing this is possibly a dual repped demos or ishtar.

For T2 HAMs, I think the reduced damage for javs and reduced sig/explosion velocity for rage, is probably enough of a penalty to offset.

If you want to see ships that are specialized but suck at their intended role take a look at the muninn (possibly) and eagle. Sure they can attack from mid range, but there's almost no reason to bring them into a fight.

Take a look at some videos from Black Legion and see what they can do with almost useless Munin's Shocked

Not Black Legions but a group of munins is scary...requires a homogonous fleet but they are mean.

This. Swap a mid for a low any day. I'd also argue that a missile velocity bonus instead of the cap recharge bonus would be a welcome change.
