Neocom, and another prove ccp doesnt play their own game

Actually, aside from the fact you can't save a Fleet Configuration yet, I found most of it pretty functional and manageable.

I didn't realize so many people minimize their chat windows during PvP. Every video on YouTube I'm certain I've ever seen had the Chat's available. The only problem really, is getting them as out of the way as possible, so you can see what's going on..

Personally, I moved the Neocom to the right, and figure I'll get used to that, because it doesn't really function well on the left. Usually, that is where my chat is, and quite often where I set up my scanner, so I find it best to have the Neocom out of there.

I just stack my usable chats to the left bottom and leave them opaque, and split local and any other chats I'm not generally going to talk to people in just to the right of that with transparency. I find I can minimze the text entry, remove the pictures, and leave room to read in the usable chats; where I make as much room to see the people in the Local and other chats, (also without pictures), and leave a bit of space for text, with a- on, so I can read it if I want.

Heck of a way to deal with Jita local and smack-talk.

It still doesn't mess with the Ship HUD, and I have lot's of room to put my scanner over top of it. Even works in station, if you move the windows around a bit. Thya actually pretty much seem to stay where you left them last time too now.

Side note: Camera center in station doesn't actually seem to have any effect, no matter which way you move it. Almost forgot about that.

CCP doesnt realize ether, dont blaim them realy.. they cant really know it cause they dont play.

Small roams is hard to keep you windows open at all time, expecialy as fc, scout or small tackle. You simply need the vision to see what you and fleet members are doing. You also need to pay attention to what will eb said in fleet. With the new stuffs it means that you need to minimize and bring up everytime something is said in fleet. very very annoying,...

Well well well, people complain over the UI everyday but as soon as something changes to a more versatile system that isn't exactly like the old one everybody gets all Rain Man on CCP.

UI change is needed and its something that will need to be iterated on as we go. For now I am happy with the fact that you can at least customize the stuff on there and make menus for those things you use alot or don't use at all.

That there are some small issues that need fixing is obvious, but not a reason to go on a huffy puffy rant about how your world is turned upside down.

- Turn off blinking

- Delete blinking button

- use FW button in stations

but most of all

Stay calm and carry on.

I was reminded of "something has changed" rage just now. My girlfriend launched into a loud shouty tirade about Facebook and various comments about the personal lives of those involved, the stupidity of the users etc. when she had calmed down enough for me to ask what they had done - it turned out they'd changed the UI again.

Anyway the only comments I have are:

it's not done yet so keep at it but I think the general direction is a good start

and yes

the chat icon shimmering - there is loads going on in eve, especially when you have a large screen and you come to rely on picking up on small changes in the UI to direct your attention - and the chat icon is essentially constantly shouting :- "the top left corner has something interesting going on!"
