I proposed this idea a couple of years ago. Seeing as how CCP seems to be listening to players, now, time to suggest it again

Simple idea, really. Instead of just a "split stack" option when you right click a stack of items, you also get "Divide Stack" option.

If you click on that, you're given a box that says Divide by [ ] . Put in the number, and you're given that many piles of evenly divided stacks.

I don't do industry, anymore. One of the biggest reasons I stopped, was because it was too much hassle. I would mine with 12 other guys (13 total), then go back to station.

In station, I'd have some veld, scordite, omber, plagioclase, etc etc.

Imagine the numbers of minerals after 13 people were mining. I would refine the ore and be left with quite large amounts of many minerals. Now the pain in the ass begins. Get out the calulator. Divide the total sum of one type of ore/mineral by the number of players to get the amount that everyone is owed. Now, hold shift, click and drag target pile. Type in amount. Bam, one pile.

Now repeat this step 11 more times.

Now repeat those actions, 13 more times per additional ore/mineral.

My proposed method.

Right click large pile. Select Divide Stack. Enter 13. Done.
Let's up the efficiency a bit. The EVE client isn't mentally challenged, it has a calculator, let's hold shift, click the first and last stack so they're all highlighted. Right click the group of ore/minerals. Select Divide Stack.
Put in 13.
And Presto. 13 even stacks of every ore/mineral/item you highlighed.

It will just round off one or more of the stacks if the total is not directly divisable by the number you input.

If you have 100, and you select Divide Stack, and enter 3, you will get 33/33/32.

You cannot divide stacks, you can split them. Hold shift, click it, and drag it, then put in a number. That process will not do any math for you. It will not calculate that the stack divided by a number equals. It will simply allow you to slowly turn one stack into more stacks.

I'm talking about division, not separation. Read the post carefully to see that what I am suggesting is true division.
