Questions about trial + in search of mentor

Hey everyone

There's a few things I was wondering about.
One of them is this, I got lucky enough and someone was kind enough to send me a 60 day trial code. Now my question about this is, if I upgrade my account with either 30 days, 3 months,... Does it get added to my trial time or once I upgrade will I no longer have those 60 days?

And what are the exact restrictions on a trial account?

As for the other thing, this game is huge, massive even. I'm used to playing MMO's but EVE is just too big to tackle by myself and learn everything on my own. So I'm looking for someone to teach me, help me out and whatnot. Even get me in his or her corp.

I'm a quick learner and I can see myself really enjoying this game if I actually know where to start/go/...

So with that said.

Thanks for the replies and please drop me a pm or reply here if you're willing to show me around.

Time is added to your acount and starts when your trial ends. Upgrading early does remove the restrictions from your acount however(trials can't fly some ship types).
Forget the restriction but mostly you can't fly a battle cruiser, or transport ships. You are also limited to how many contracts sell order and lack the ability to trade some times.

You also don't need some one to teach you.....you need a corp.

We can't really post recruitment in this forum as it is mainly restricted to the corp recruitment forum.

Also need to know more about what you want and when you play before I say my corp is perfect for you...

Well a corp then, and to be honest I have no idea what I want yet since I haven't gotten myself past all the tutorials yet, been reading too much.

How about pm'ing me?

Right now I can basically play every day all the time since I'm unemployed for the moment

Thats the hardest part of EvE. Figuring out what you want to do.

The tutorials are a great introduction to some parts of EvE. For a corp I suggest talking to them rather than just joining one that looks good.
A corp focused in a lot of area's and with a decent activity level may fit you well and expose you to amny parts of the game.

I'm a US-West timezone player and my corp is mainly US time zones thought we do have some EU and AUS players so I am unable to PM you. If you are US timezone player of course I suggest my own corp :)

Unable to pm, is that a fault on my part? Or...

Yeah I'm EU though

Oh and another question here. If I buy 3 months of gametime, can I convert 2 of those into ingame currency or is that only possible by buying plex?

If you buy Game Time Cards you can convert those into ISK by selling them either on the Time Code Bazarr section of the forum of redeeming them for PLEX and selling them in game.

If you want a corp that's on EU time, send me a message, we have a few new players in at the moment and are helping them find their feet, you might like to join up with us until you figure things out and perhaps even find a bigger corp that suits your needs.

WoW holds your hand until end game, and gives you a cookie whether you win or lose. EVE not only takes your cookie, but laughs at you for bringing one in the first place...

Can't say anything about the corp, you're welcome to apply on your own though. The first person to reply was right about wanting to get into one to really enjoy the game. If you have questions or anything though feel free to add me to your list and PM me anytime I'm on and I'll assist.

Not possible, you would need to buy PLEX or GTC/ETC (60 day gametime codes).

Whenever you add gametime to account, that can't be removed from account and changed to PLEX/ISK, so you need to sell PLEX or GTC for ISK instead of adding it to account.

Also, I often use EVE as my chat client and I like helping new players. So I can offer some mentoring if we happen to be online same time. Big smile

EDIT: Exact trial account limitations are listed here: Trial account limitations
