until today I wasn't aware of this mechanic and wondered how DST would escape my sabre camp.

While I was OK with cloak-MWD since it can be countered with bubbles, cloak-MJD can not and requires a fastlocking scrambler frigate on top of your bubbler in order to counter that. If you're too slow you wont come into scram range, is your locking time too long, it will MJD off prior lock and scram activation.

Regular MJD is easy to spot and counter as you get 10 seconds activation time on it, visible for everyone around giving you plenty of time to react. In combination with a cloak its a whole different story.

Not quite sure too if its an intended mechanic and works this way:
after dropping gate cloak you activate your improved cloak (on otherwise non-cloaky ship) which breaks any ongoing hostile locks, then activate your MJD. Few seconds lapse prior MJD deactivates your non-covert cloak, leaving you basically no time to do anything and scramble the target.

Encountered this tactic with a neutral deep space transporter in null, tested with Medium Micro Jump Drive on a Battlecruiser, dunno if it works with battleships too.

IMO a broken mechanic CCP should fix and make MJD immediately shutting down your cloak.

9 sec at max skills the activation timer?

in a frigate you have enough time to approach decloak and point imo.
not really broken.

not enough?
get command dessie+sabre combo, bubble up, at max skills you have 6sec on the dessie MJD, count till 5-6sec, click on mjd, wait for him to decloak and spam align toward his new position.

he has something like 2-3 sec to warp off once he land from his MJD or else you are on top of him with a bubble plus his cloak on cooldown.



instead of crying think at how catch your prey. and maybe you'll get some results.
then in lowsex it's another story

I tryed that on DST. As soon as I activate medium micro jump dribve, it breaks the cloak. So my DST stays decloacked for good 5 seconds at least. Plenty of time to lock it.
