My Poor Geckos

Two weeks leave, back home in my C5 hole and suddenly I'm struggling to clear sites because the sleepers are targeting my geckos as soon as they launch.

Did I miss something in the patch notes?
Have I done something wrong somehow?
Only thing I can see different is that a visitor left me a Drifter Response Battleship hopping round the POCOs, but could that affect drones being targeted?

If you're wiser than me, please comment.

PS and that super annoying incoming capacitor text - how the hell do you turn that off?

Yes, drones get shot by sleepers. Change went in what? 2 years ago? 3? Not sure exactly.

Pretty sure sleepers have always shot drones. It was K space NPCs that got changed a while back (they got upgraded to the sleeper AI).

Drone aggro is a funny thing, who knows how it really works.

I have 2 snakes, the only difference is that one has T2 RHML and the other Meta, the T2 fit has never had drone aggro (well not in the past month) while the Meta fit gets aggro 10 times per C3 site so maybe if your ship has more DPS it draws more agro. By the same token a Mach i use in LS has loads of DPS and yet its Mediums and heavies draw a tonne of aggro.

Yes, I know that drones have always been shot at, but this is a change in Sleeper behaviour, specifically with cruiser sized sleepers. They are now targetting geckos and sentry drones on launch to an extent that far surpasses the light aggro of 2-3 weeks ago.

I've seen just normal aggro from frigate and battleship sized sleepers, and this is common across multiple systems, with andwithout Steve knocking around, and not dependent of system effects.

For those of us scratching a living in a C5 with a Rattlesnake pair it's a minor inconvenience - as always there is a way round the change.

Yes, there has been a definite change in the sleeper aggression against drones. There are threads on reddit about it and some CCP dev responses that they will look into it as there was no deliberate attempt to change.

It may be around the fact that cap transfer was seen as a bigger threat previously in the code.

Who knows if it will revert, so people are suggesting mixing in sentries for non-bs rats and prioritizing webbing rats - or using non-drone boats.

I wish non-drone boats weren't so cancerous in wh-pve. :( Although I do admit my fitting prowess is rather paltry so if something does exist that kills sleepers without drones fairly easily, I would be all ears.

um... NO idea what you're taking about.
Drone boats are that absolute lowest tier of trash people fly to run PVE in WHs, you should absolutely avoid them if you have any other options.
The reason people use crap like rattlesnakes for WH pve is cos they're lazy and badly skilled, not because that ship is inherently great for the job.

actually 600mil mjd rattles provide some of the best isk/h compared to the risk, but everybody calm down, it's a known bug and will probably be fixed as fast as the void bomb problem

Yea drone ships are totally not used by people who scale them with alts to increase their isk/h.

Damn you are dumb, how do you even exist?
