I got hyped up, cause in a few days I will buy my first battlecruiser- Gnosis. So, I asked myself a question, how hard would it be to fight a Sansha Incursion? I mean I tried it before, when I was a rookie on destroyer - Algos. And I never even looked at Incursions tab again. But, today I ask myself a question, how hard would it be, and how many people would it take to take down the incursion? I mean in rookie measures, cruisers, destroyers, frigates, and me as 1 battlecruiser.

There are entire communities based around doing incursions. They are typically divided into shield or armor fleets but not mixed due to logi having to match tank type.

These communities have it down to a science mostly and have prescribed ways to run them. Certain there are other fleet comps that can work but if you want to run with the communities you have to fly by their rules. Otherwise you can get a bunch of your friends and run them.

I have not run incursions in several years so I can not tell you if the above link is up to date. I can say that back when I did run incursions it was mostly BS fleets with T2 logi.

the BTL Pub channel in game used to be very active and had links in the MotD and were very helpful to new pilots. I am not so sure how active it is now-a-days.

TVP was another one. Again I'm not sure how active they are now.

Of course just doing a google search for " eve incursions " will get you a decent amount of info. Searching "eve online incursion fits " also yields some links as well.

Sorry that I don't have more up to date info hopefully someone with more recent experience will drop into this thread.

If you want a community ro run with check the ingame channel "Incursion Public" it lists the active communities and their timezones they run in.

A gnosis will struggle to get invited to fleet because it cant really pull its weight for most established communities though some may make an exception, i would honestly suggest a t1 battleship as a starter point and go from there, save the ISK you would have spend on the gnosis and pile it into your first battleship but do your research before you make a purchase.

I'm no expert, but last time I looked into Incursions, it took a full fleet of extremely expensive ships (virtually all BS class for DPS) to do Incursions.

However, remember that metric involves clearing them as fast as possible and not taking any losses (usually). They could be done slower, or with losses by lesser fleets. Not impossible, but certainly an uphill challenge requiring a large number of ships. Especially if those ships aren't 2bil isk bling boats, you would need more (and lose more).

There are no Gnosis fits that I know of for Incursions. Faction battleships are the name of the game for DPS.

As a second option, look into flying logi ships. These can be far less expensive than the ship of the line battleships and get your foot in the Incursion door.
The above mentioned groups post fittings for each ship they use, so get a feel for what the initial investment might be and if it's right for you.

I think some people used to run t3c or BC fleets, but as said, BS fleets do it better.

I have Gnosis only because I am an Alpha. Secondly, don't like battleships much, they are too slow.

You may not have the skills available to you as an alpha that the Incursion running groups are looking for. Again, remember that they are interested in blitzing the Incursion and taking zero losses- so they have expensive fits and high SP expectations. Incursions aren't really aimed at Alphas. They are an 'end-game' PvE content.

Combat sig sites might be a better route to explore, especially with a Gnosis as your base vehicle. I assume you are going to start off in high sec- so be prepared for a lot of competition for good sites.

Take this opportunity to learn! Keep an eye on local, spam your D-Scan.....because you will be far better off in low or null sec, and you will need to add those things to your routine when in hostile space. Once you get tired of lots of competition for poor rewards in high sec, you will be ready to move to low/null and be well ahead of the curve.

If it's fleet PvE you are after, you can always fleet up with friends and run things like L4 missions. They will be more of a challenge for your Alpha skills and T1 ships the way Incursions are a challenge for Omegas with expensive faction/T2 ships. Low end Sleepers are also do-able if you and some friends want to take a day trip to a worm hole (again, using your D-Scan will be added to your routine).

There are groups that are accepting alphas, although they typically tend to put them in a cruiser, due to the smaller signature, higher speed and higher flexibility. It may also be a bit more difficult to get a spot in one of those fleets, as there are many alphas in the game, and an incursion fleet can only take so many of them and still be somewhat profitable. Nullsec incursions are generally more alpha friendly than highsec incursions, as you can bring more people and still get the full payout, and you pretty much never have to compete with other fleets for your site.
