Hi. I'm looking for an interceptor on the purpose of solo pvp in nullsec. Is Taranis still viable choice for that or is there any better option atm?

Edit : Before any answer, I have a little addition. I'm actually looking for a frigate below 50M with full fit. Do you recommend me an assault frigate instead of an interceptor?

Interceptors aren't really solo ships. Their role is to flit about everywhere quickly and tackle ships so the slower ships in your fleet can finish them off.

Most people will say that assault frigates are obsolete nowadays since T3 destroyers are better at everyhing than them. A t3d will probably put you slightly over your 50m mark though. That said, I still think AFs are nice, personally I really like the vengeance.

You may also want to look into one of the navy or pirate frigates, those can also be really nice for solo work.

I'm curious as to what you are expecting to PvP against. In null, you can expect to run across VNIs and carriers ratting, HACs and carriers doing escalations, Rorqs, Orcas, Skiffs/Procurers (maybe Hulk alts with Rorqs/Orcas) mining. Most every common fit I've seen for these ships will eat or escape from any solo frigate if the player is not afk (with the possible exception of a stealth bomber).
