That's really up to you. There are no "shoulds" in this game. It's an open world sandbox.

That being said it is not entirely impossible for me to give you some advice that would be more specific to your playstyle however you've given us no indication of your likes or dislikes and the kinds of things that you typically enjoy either in games or in life.

A little hint on what you'd like to do could go a long way.

If you are totally lost and have no idea what to do I suggest just trying everything. Start talking with other players right away and start looking for a corp to join but don't feel a need to jump into one if you don't find something that seems like a good fit right off the bat.

I suggest getting into several public chats of perspective corps and talking people up a bunch until you find a group that seem fun to play with.

My aim was to build my own ships, a destroyer and a cruiser. Thus I had to find ore and blueprints.
But all that stuff can be bought, so you may start the Epic Arc of the Sisters of Eve in Arnon (forum edit 2 years ago)
or just perform other Level 1 Missions (Agent finder in "People and Places").

Hello and welcome to Eve.

My suggestion is complete all of the Career Agents and then do the level 1 Sisters Of Epic Arc. That will give you some time to train up all the Core Fitting Skills, make some ISK and decide which career path you want to pursue here in Eve.

May you have a long rewarding career.

Hi

Make a 2nd character on another alpha account. Go for a different race then your 1st one. Then use 1 character to join a corp, the other let it just sit and train, I highly recommend you get hauler ships for your selected race (for example caldari industrial) up to lvl 4, and some basic trade / social skills.

This is in case your standings / sec status gets screwed up with a corp you joined and now you can't play your character. Usually such new characters are not worth any effort or ISK to repair, it is a very tedious, long and often costly process. So if you do screw up by accident, or get suckered in by some clown corp (beware of those, they are around), you jsut contract all your stuff to your other toon and come haul it all away with minimal losses.

When you´re not in a corp, you are bounded to npc corp, that will charge you 11% tax for every earning above 100.000 isk. Some corps offer lower taxes and even none. Or you can create your own corp if you're like to play solo, like me.
