Ok Guys.

Here we go:

So with Strategic Cruiser getting a rework (love it) I feel it is time CCP comes up with a better system to deal with the Loss of these ships.

If you are like me and have all 4 races subs to level 5 losing a Strategic Cruiser can be a pain with 4+ days skill time.

If you like to fly them a lot solo, or you fly a lot of them in fleets... and have a Yolo Fc that likes to Welp you all the time, then it can be very easy to get stuck in a permma loop of training subs to keep you running the ships to a good standard!

This is to heavy a price to pay Attention and makes the hulls just that little bit less awesome to fly. #ItJustDontFeelRightAnymoreCCP.

Now for the idea:

Ok so say you have all level 5 subsystem skills and you die, you would now get a 12hour? timer (not unlike blue jump timer) where 1 sub skill? (or all 5? Or Random amount of subs from that race? each time you die) would get a Timer.

While under the Weakened Mental State (the timer) of losing a Strategic Cruiser... affected subs would get -1skill levels benefit worth for the 12h timer~

~So you would have the level 5 trained and intact but be Downgraded to all level 4's while the 12h timer ticks, if you lose a Strategic Cruiser again while the first timer is still active it would stack, and downgrade to all level 3's and keep going till you are total trash in the ship for a few days BlinkBlink or you wait out/don't die till the first 12 hour timer has run.

After you "rest" out the timer and your Mind can recover from a Strategic Cruiser loss, the Penalty would be lifted and access to them lovely Level 5's you took the time to train would be granted again.

Dear CCP

I don't like the costs associated with losing these extremely powerful ships. Can you please replace them with a pittance of what they were?

That said, I'd support this if you drop the performance by say... 10% across the board. 10% more mass, 10% less tank, 10% less dps, 10% lower base velocity.

That said, as much as I personally don't like the SP loss mechanics you should probably read CCP's comments out of the focus group.

What you've outlined here is pretty much the exact reason CCP left SP loss on the hulls. In short ThatsThePoint.jpg.

You don't have a very convincing argument if your argument is pointing out things CCP already knows and have explicitly stated they're not only okay with but wanted as effects of the thing you're looking to remove.

@OP I appreciate this format more than a wall of text, but I think there's probably a happy middle ground in there somewhere.

If you just want the Dev comments out of the focus group you can just search for Fozzie's name or scroll through until you see blue.
