Since the original Project Discovery came out, I've been a great fan. Not only does it fill my random pieces of free time between fleets, during gatecamps, entosis and reinforcement ops, it also gives me the right to claim that I do science for the good of mankind! BlinkBlink
Of course, the iskies are not a bad icing to my cake!

Moving past the initial issues that seem to exist with the launch of Exoplanets, I wondered if it would be possible to create an android/ios app for smartphones, that would allow people to access P.D. when not logged in, from home, work, transportation, vacations etc. Those small breaks you get between important chores/activities? That's what mobile apps are meant to fill. Since one of my favorite hobbies is now Eve, I wonder how difficult a mobile app P.D. would be. Capsuleers spend hours off their computers due to real life, but almost everyone has a smartphone with him nowadays. A P.D. app would be a great way to promote citizen science, in addition to advertising Eve itself.

Citizen science, FTW!!!

Plus 1!

..at least, once they sort out whatever is currently wrong with it. I haven't really tried it yet beyond the tutorial, but a lot of people either really suck at finding planets or there are issues with the ingame app lol.

I would imagine they could port the code fairly easily.
