...make ISK, make ISK...

CCP ll kill this game fast. Dont understand the new generations...

Summing up: CCP took away any possibility of utility from the rooms, then did a research stating that people had no interest in these rooms ...

Did you even read the blog? There are technical reason why it's getting canned. For example, the non-supported middle ware it was based on. If they can't get support for that, they would need to burn resources on re-creating it.

Canning it is the right answer to the door question.

If they wanted to troll a bit for a last "hurrah" before canning it, they should let us open the door just to have another locked door behind it.

I lol'd, after I started playing in 2006 there was endless talk of walking in stations, and it went on for years, and years and years. CCP just kep bigging it up at every fanfest - then it finally came in 2010 and wow_it_is_nothing.jpg, a room you can walk around in with a TV. I'm glad to see it gone tbh, walking in stations was the posterchild of CCP's inability to follow through with the mad promises they come up with over the years.

A better suggestion I read elsewhere is after shutting down walking in stations they should give everyone a "station keycard" as a novelty item.

Man, I LOVE IT!
"Hey, hello there, guys, we kept Captains quarters the same for several years and noted a steady decline of people using this feature, so we decided to nuke it completely."
You know, certain games like warframe at least added ability to paint the walls, put some decorations inside and get yourself a cat/dog. Could use the miniature giant space hamster though.

Let me see, imagine this: you do something, everyone loves (old times). Then you put it in a corner and forget it, that is no longer useful, because there is nothing new. After years - YEARS - you do a search to find out what people think about something that has been overlooked by developers ... and use that search to 'illustrate' something.

Sincerely? I think cynicism (from CCP) should have limits.

Hi :)

yes, but what CCP propose? nothing! Just give to us a BAD escuse to nerf...nerf...nerf the game. Sincerely? It seems that the CCP's idea is just to focus the game on 'shots everywhere to get the market rolling'.

Absolutely no CCP proposal, nothing. Just transform the game, year after year into something that enslaves everyone, keeps everyone, constantly, losing to feed 'pockets' ...

Suggestion for those upset about losing your CQ: go into your quarters, take a screen capture, and save the picture. Pretty much lets you keep the Captains Quarters. P

They don't propose anything because they are canning it. You don't announce or propose development on things you throw in the trash.

Avatar game play is not seen as a priority so as few resources as possible will be put on that. They will still maintain what will still be there like they did with the CQ before canning it but that's it. All the dev time cycle saved by removing the CQ and thus removing the maintenance on that code will be put elsewhere.

They also didn't announce on what those dev cycle will be put because the player base has a strong habit of bitching about pretty much any announcement such as this one about canning a feature that was a technical dead end.

I just came back after many years away. I was surprised to find that the WiS isn't a thing yet, but meh - I doubt it would have added anything of real value.
