So last time i ran a L4 sec mission i died horribly, I was under prepared and got one shot right at the start of the mission in a drake.. Yes a drake.

Now i have a Machariel and feeling like taking a crack at it again.
But i have sunk about 1.4bill into the ship and fit and i dont want to loose it.

How well will this ship hold up, Even with a crap fit?
I can get about 100k EHP so even if i find myself over powered will i have a chance to warp out and adjust my fit, Or would i just get one shot again?

Has anyone even got one shot in this ship on L4 sec missions b4... I mean its a battleship, You would think it would hold up for a bit right..

Thanks for any advice.

Well that depends on what mission and what area you run in.
I myself use a 350mill typhoon full T2 fit and it's doing really good, 50-70k EHP, 550'esh dps-tank and about near 1k dps with missiles and drones..
It's really great for the range it can and really cheap for that amount of power

there are a few lv4 missions with warp disruption so that might stop you from being able to warp out. so I suggest at least fitting a Micro Jump drive to jump out of disruption range and warp out.

I would also suggest using a cheap t1 BS to learn the missions. Accidentally hitting all the triggers, fitting the wrong hardeners, or aggroing the wrong group are mistakes that are easy to make. Or just getting annoyingly permajammed, or other ewar'd to the point you can't easily get out happens. If you do lose a ship you want it to be a cheap ship and not your shiny new pirate BS

nothing should one shot you, heck nothing should probably one shot a drake, but it's your isk, risk it how you like.

How have you sunk 1.4 bil into your Mach and yet it's still "crap fit"? Did you just fill the cargo bay with Dancers?

Can you share your fit?

I'd like to try out the Typhoon but never found a fit I like

ive done lvl 4s in about every battleship and even drakes + nighthawk, if you cant do a mission in a t1 ship, a faction will be just as bad just more expensive

Use the mission guides and start very carefully. I used to do them in a dominix with the only T2 mod on it being the DC and meta armor hardners. There were only a few I stayed away from.
It also depends on you fit. The mach I used for a bit had 100mn ab and was shield tanked and as long as I kept moving I was fine. Drones were only used when frigs came in close. Probably don't even need the faction booster. Needs to be cap stable with ab on though.

i will have to disagree on this statement, i would never rat in a moa or a caracal, but a gila will wreck most sites. gila's can produce upwards of 700 dps, and have a great passive recharge tank mixed with a speed tanking ability.

In order to tell you if you're tough enough to run lvl 4s, and if your ship will hold up to level 4s, you need to tell me a bit about your skill set and lost how you've fitted the ship. A Machariel with 3 T2 rigs and nothing else fit to it will be expensive and will not survive any mission.

I just don't know enough about you or your ship to answer your question.

With that being said, Machariels are capable of running lvl 4s, absolutely. Are YOU? I don't know. But if you can't afford to lose it, don't fly it. That's about the best advice I can give with the information I have.

It really depends on what mission / enemies you're doing.

I clean most missions in a sentry Domi without trouble, but when I have to face Mordu's Legion battleships, I have to switch ship, cause my Domi isn't tanky enough.

In any case, fitting a MJD as a panic button is a good idea, but you should be fine with a Machariel.

Yes but at the same time even a very good ship can still get killed. I lost a paladin once (before Bastion and MJDs) in a mission as I aggroed the whole pocket and got damped down to a lock range shorter than the orbiting tackle frigs.

These days as long as you are on the ball and fit a MJD you really can't die.

Personally I would use the Mach but fit a MJD and a DC2. Worst case just pulse the MJD and warp out.

why dont you just use a tempest to try out for a few days
most missions are easy but some can be hard if you suck and get scrammed
or if you dont know what to expect
like the one with the drone mothership
you will get spawns all over you and your mach will die

so basically just use a cheap bs and use eve-survival until youre confident
then you can start using your mach

It sounds plausible enough tonight, but wait until tomorrow. Wait for the common sense of the morning.
