Compare Tool - Including Skills

The Compare tool currently just shows base differences between compared modules.

Very simply, I would like to suggest an option to be able include your own skills (perhaps also max skills?) within compare, so that you can easily see how each item will work for you.

I feel this would greatly enhance the compare tool and can't foresee any negative effects this would have.

Including current skills is probably pretty easily doable, I'd throw that into the Little Things thread on the new forums. meta.eveonline.com, make sure you follow the format for the thread.

Including All 5s is harder and probably not really needed. The reason current skills is easy is because the client knows what your skills are, it just needs to make sure the relevant bits of UI have access to them. We've already got skills factored into Show Info, the Compare tab just needs to be able to use that item data. The client has no idea what "All 5s" looks like though, there's no player data for that guy in the client. It's the same reason the Ship Simulator only knows about your current skills as they are right now.

I would say that the difference between "current skills" and "all 5s" would certainly be of value on the attributes page of a module, but not within the compare section.

Those are superfluous details when comparing modules. Comparing the raw stats provides a much clearer example of the differences between the modules.

If they were going to add different skill views to the info window, I'd rather see a column for "all 0", "my skills and implants", and "all 5".

Cade, your argument about the client not knowing what an "all 5s" character would look like is moot - it's a programmable static value that they could very easily add.

I still want the list on the left to grey out categories that all the modules have identically, like almost always volume and a few others.
