DT will be delayed for another 50 minutes due to serious hamster infection. Veterinarians are fixing the issue.

Everyone gives CCP crap for the fact that once every few months they too get hit by the Microsoft Patch. Patch the server, bounce the server find that Microsoft has patches to their patches, rinse repeat. It's a cluster with multiple nodes so multiply what you do you for you none Mac machine by X and you get the idea of why CCP takes longer than normal.

P.S. As a system becomes more complex the level of testing to reduce defects because longer and longer. There is no way to perform end to end testing and therefore it should always be at the forefront of everyone's mind that any and every product will be delivered with bugs. On that note save the tears for the carebears.

That's why in a working server enviroment, you don't instal each and every single minor update right away., but only after it's been proven to truly be stable. That is, if you wish to run a working server.

This is perfectly fine. What is absolutely not fine, is when CCP says the patch will take 1h, everyone knows (except for CCP) that it'll take at least 3 hours. When CCP says it'll take 6-7h, everyone knows (except for CCP) that it'll take at least 24h, or not 168h (yeah, when you're unable to play properly before the 6th patchday-after-patchady).

It's just the communications. We all know it's a complex system, and thus it needs its time to get up and running smoothly. We also appreciate that CCP wants to minimize the patch window, so we can have less non-play time. But it'd be better to announce the patch interval at a reasonable and more realistic duration, because it always takes a few hour longer than announced. That way, we'd be happier to have TQ back up earlier than expected, and we wouldn't be idling a few hours, waiting for a patch-procedure update every 10 minutes.

CCP why do you do this to yourself every single expansion/patch you try to deploy? It has been said million times and I'm going to say it again. Just say that the DT will last 5 hours, get TQ up in 3 and every single soul in this world will be happy and you will not have every single EVE player waiting to connect and eating your brains out on the forums.

Do you really need this? BTW GJ on the Crucible expansion. Thank you. Ugh

QFT. I don't care whether an update requires 1 hour or 3 hours or 10 hours. But, give me a reasonable time frame to build my expectations. I'm off today and so have planned on playing the game for most of the day when it comes up. Telling me repeatedly it's going to be up in 30 minutes when it's not just pisses me off.

I'm going to think preemptively here. Can we go ahead and get an update on the 1410 update telling us why that update is wrong and updating us with another update to update the update?

I completely agree with you. Scotty's first law of engineering, take the time you think it will take to complete the job and multiple by a factor of 1.5 to ensure that, one you have time to complete the work before the expected timeline, and two to look like the god of engineering on the starship. Most people will tell you this is called under committing and over delivering. No matter how many times this is explained it always feels like it falls on deaf ears.

We know that its because of the POS fuel. Every POS is probably offline by now and they are onlining them on by one in GM mode :D
