Please make the game modular so players can put their own content in it. i.e. ship/Structure designs.

Give us the ability to design our Pod shapes etc.

It would be nice to have our own stuff in the game, well for me anyway!

Note: If a person comes along someone who has a player designed ship/structure and does not have the design saved on their computer then the game will show the base design(i.e. a caldari Rokh will look as the usual Rokh) until their computer gets the files automatically and load the shape And also the game updates everyone's computer with any new designs upon startup of the game everyday.

yeah no, you would have thousands of variations for looks, if that's all you want to change.

anything you may want to change performance wise is against balance like alpha and omega accounts

Plex would be used for you developers to skin, add weapons locations, booster lighting/colour. i.e 500 plex each design...that seems fair.

I would pay Plex Developers for you to skin my pod or whatever design.

See t3 cruisers. You won't get it for the rest of the game
If you want modular ships, pick another game.

Eve is not mine Craft or second life. The level of build your own Content you are looking for is suitable for private server's. Elite has the option of crafting or you could try star citizen one e day. I do not look forward to seeing eve with player made skins. It reminds me of the end days of quake ii multiplayer. Give you Plex to care for kids or something else.

It's not safe out here. It's wondrous, with treasures to satiate desires both subtle and gross. But it's not for the timid.

Oh man, *so many problems with this*

Just for a start CCP would have to approve *everything*, which would be a huge drain on manpower on their end. They can't let anything obscene into the game, they can't let anything copyrighted into the game, and they can't let anything that doesn't meet a minimum quality standard into the game. This is a massive problem because the first thing someone is going to try is to add the Navy Minecraft Hitler to the game.

On top of that all those ship models and textures would be *massive* to download. That's pretty much a hard no right there, especially for the kind of freedom you seem to want.

Oh and that's without getting into the performance impact of dozens of different ship models and their associated database entries. SKINs get away with it due to some clever programming and even those are pretty limited and only work because they're just re-texturing the same model.

In short this is hilariously infeasible from both a technical and copyright perspective.

If we're *very* lucky we'll get the chance to submit SKIN designs for review by CCP to be sold in the store at some point in the next ten years, and even that's going to be way more restricted than I think you want.

I love how gloriously consistent 53 is. He seems to be completely incapable of anticipating what effects things will have. Anything from trying to active-hull-tank a Skiff in losec, to expecting everyone to download infinite amounts of textures and... models? As well as the hordes of space-phalluses and other obscene references that his idea would blindly allow in.

That, and 99% of models are pure crap. Lots of people are REALLY bad at modeling, but supportive friends are too nice to tell them that their models are terrible. And most of the ones that are not crap will probably be stolen dragon dildo 3d files, reposted, or... something else. I have great faith in the EVE community to find fresh new ways to be terrible terrible people.

And he didn't realize this before he posted the OP.

That's because all he does is throw **** at the wall and see if it sticks. He has no idea about game mechanics, the social aspect, the economy or any other part of the game.

I mean, from a dev's perspective these sorts of pie in the sky ideas aren't inherently bad. They can and sometimes do lead to really good ideas once they're refined down and made more realistic.

The problem here is that quite a few of the ones he posts are just flat out bad, or don't work with the game Eve is even if they might work with another game, and the general attitude the posts are made with is just a little entitled.
