Question about jump freighters

Hi,

I'm thinking about buying one... it will be used mostly for getting stuff to/from tradehubs to different low sec systems within 15 jumps of Jita. The value of the cargo will be always around 3-4B.

Now I think a Jump Freighter with 3-4B cargo will be killed very fast in Jita. So I wonder what is the max value to safely use it in Jita?

And how would you handle a higher value? Jump to a HS a few jumps out of Jita and move it in smaller pieces to Jita with DST or Orca?

You can't jump to high-sec, only from. For that trip to Jita you'll have to traverse multiple gates.

Yeah, so jump to a near low station and from there use the gates.

Get a freighter AND a jump freighter. Haul stuff with freighter in highsec until you get to a system your JF can jump into low.

Post with your NPC alt main and not your main main alt!

Ok, for example I use my freighter to jump between Jita and another HS system a few jumps out of Jita.

In this HS system I've a Jump Freighter that can jump into low/null. And on the way back i jump to a low next to this (or another HS) system. From there I warp to the HS gate and drop stuff back in that HS system?

Pretty much. You mitigate the risk your JF via a normal freighter when HS hauling. It takes longer but you reduce your risk.

This is pretty much what I did. I don't like bringing the jf to jita and have a neut hauler that takes care of the final haul for me. Safer in the long run. Tho at the same time as a jf you do have the option where you can bail and jump out to a exit cyno if you think you're in danger (just make sure you have enough fuel to bail if you need to).

If you also have access to another account you can make a scout to travel along the pipe to jita to check it before you go. So it's up to you on how you want to really get everything to jita, just take proper precautions to keep yourself safe.
