Ayyyyyy

So first off Im in the amarr militia, and Ive been seeingthe kind of ships on the feild and reading up or hearing from fellow capsulers
Of the averageships.
And you never hear about faction cruisers, except the navy issue vexor or pirate cruise.
Now I see crap loads of comets, slicers and firetails (fighting minis)

Now I ask you forums, are they bad, are there any good ones (other than mentioned)
I ask because I dont have the skills for tech 2 cruisers or any tech three.
Ive am considering buying a few navy omens, but I dont know if its even much better.

Empire Faction ships tend to be straight upgrades over their T1 counterparts, having superior ship traits, slot layout, an extra slot somewhere, and better ship stats. These tend to be between T1 and T2 ships in terms of cost. The Vexor Navy Issue is a good example: It lies between the Vexor T1 and the Ishtar T2 in terms of expense and performance, being a drone-boat just like those two.

Pirate Faction ships have special quirky traits that let them do things no other ship can do. They always have two Racial ship traits along with a very significant damage boosting Role Bonus trait. They can be extremely powerful, more-so than most T2 ships of their class, and are more expensive as a result.

Other Faction ships are a little stranger and include SoE and Mordus ships. SoE ships are designed for probing and "deep space" combat simultaneously, eschewing ammo-based weapons for the infinitely-shooting Drones as their primary weapon system. Mordus ships are kiting missile-boats on steroids.

Pirate cruisers are out of my throw away budget.
Do you know how the faction cruisers stack up to tech II?

Thanks for answering

The Navy Omen is a really strong nano ship and can absolutely murder frigs when flown correctly. The range bonus makes it extremely strong with using Scorch so T2 pulse lasers are mandatory.
The Navy Augorer can be a strong AHAC type of ship but I don't think they are that common anymore.

The Navy Vexor, as you mentioned, is the strongest and most used faction cruiser. The Navy Exequror on the other hand is trash and rarely used.

Navy Osprey is great with RLML and is often used for that. Likewise is the Fleet Scythe. The Navy Caracal is bad and rarely used. The Fleet Stabber is a strong brawler but I don't think they are used that often anymore.

I've never felt Navy ships were worth the ISK. They are better than T1 counterparts for sure but not worth extra 80 million in general.

I only use a navy ship for PvE. Mabey the odd kill if I know I will win. But thats rare as a bag of dicks. They arnt worth the ISK.

solid summary!

I'll admit I've pretty much never looked at the exequror navy. Just looking at it now and it mainly looks like an expensive throax, with a bit more speed. Not sure where I'd use that.

Why is everyone saying navy ships are expensive? Navy frigs and cruisers have pretty much the best cost/performance ratio in the game. They're like half the price of their T2 counterparts and can performance more or less equally.
