Imbalanced role slaughtering things:

Supers with NSA fit blapping the one class of ship that can hold them consistantly - the interdictor and consequently every other sub.

  • Supers are being used in teh way you'd want to use battleships (if battleships didn't suck at everything)
  • Supers do what dreads do but better on caps, structures and under.

Proposal: Eliminate every ship class below super carrier. Game is then balanced.

then just change everyone's current ships to supers - and allow supers in high sec. All problems fixed!

Only kinda - mostly sick of supers stepping on every other ship role from dreadnought down to hotdropping with them and volleying subcaps off the field without issue. These ships are supposed to require fleet support to be effective but they are mainly used (SLYCE I'm looking at you) as a pwnmobile.

my solution is just me being a bittervet.

devs solution is to start handing out Concord ships. Given enough time we'll have fleets of Drifter BS's alphing titans and doomsday frigates.

It's not safe out here. It's wondrous, with treasures to satiate desires both subtle and gross. But it's not for the timid.

Cyno's need a spool-up timer (not covert ops). I'm sick of the lame bait cyno hunting that has zero risk. You can't kill a cyno ship fast enough to matter these days if you're out in a small gang. It isn't skill - its bullshit - you can't roam for **** these days without getting supers or other capitals dropped on you with zero risk. And the coalescence of all the power blocs just makes it worse since they have nothing to fear from each other. Every nullsec war is a water balloon fight.

I somehow have the feeling you have a PL main who was helicopter dicking on anything in range before supers became really available at large as they are now. Not sure why.

What about a local cyno disruption field of some kind? No cyno covert or not, could be lit within the range. It could be a script for heavy dictors or something.

You should have lead with this. Leading with a troll just makes people roll their eyes and stop reading, or just troll you back, leaving the original issue ignored.

I agree that a capital ship should require a support fleet.

Consider though what would happen if a Nyx decided to drop on a gang of 5-10 with long ranged weapons. Something like an Oracle. Would the Nyx win, or would the oracles (assuming they could break his tank and keep him tackled). The Oracles would win, if such a win is defined as not getting blapped by the Nyx. Yea they might lose on or two, but his fighters cost more.

They would defang him.

Consider the same engagement with even numbers of Nyxes vs Oracles. The Nyxes obviously win because there's no way the Oracles could blap that many fighters before they get deleted.

The difference between the two is that carriers and supercarriers can support each other. Jumping in with HAW dreads would produce the same result as the carrier drops. You'd get blapped. Arguably, you'd prefer the carriers because you stand a very remote chance against them. No such luck against the dreads because you can't defang them.

Well you'd be wrong.
