Isn't Blaque a capsuleer anyway?

Pretty sure Louella Dougans has his corpse.

Nice one. As dark as the space of New Eden itself.

Edit: And yeah, where's the visual art? Sad

Nice write up. However, I have to wonder if the reasoning for CCP behind Alliances coming into FW is the same reasoning of the characters in the fiction.

Quote:
"I mean, the empires are already at a disadvantage. Why would we want to let the eggers even further into our backyard?"

Lascaux spread his hands again, but this time the expression on his face was anything but flippant.

"Apparently," he said, "the idea is to learn something from the alliance leaders about how they conduct their warfare. Spy on them from the inside. Keep your friends..."

"Right, right," said Itakainen. "Because they've been doing their cutting edge thing on the fringes for the longest time."

"Right."

"Because they're just fighting for conquest and they don't have to think about running actual societies."

"Something like that."

I read that from the point of view of an 'egger'. So because 0.0 alliances are better at everything, we're having them in FW.

Question Am I reading that right?

Excellent story.

The best thing about a dark and gritty world like EVE is the countless of opportunities to aide your fellow man.

Nice Chron.

Not hard to guess the ending, however. It was sort of evident as soon as the "family" tie was mentioned.

In the fiction, at least, capsuleers are only 'immortal' when supported by a cluster-wide infrastructure that includes, crucially, the capsule (which images their brain states at the moment of death and transmits this on to the cloning facility). One of the major plot points of the new novel was acquiring the technology to produce immortal soldiers without relying on capsule infrastructure.

Well, there's also soft-cloning.
