Dear EVE Devs

There are two points I’d like to make.

Point A: I believe that you should be looking into creating a Chinese version of Tranquility.

Chinese speaking players deserve the ability to play on tranquility without running into a heavy linguistic barrier.

I know that currently, there are commercial and political issues associated with the situation. I have many ideas about how they can be resolved (This topic is probably unsuited for a public forum; we can talk in private about this).

I believe the creation of a Chinese version of Tranquility is inevitable in the long term; it is simply a matter of how and when.

Point B: I can help you create a Chinese version of Tranquility.

I am an expert translator. Apart from all the things I translate to make a living, I have translated the FPS game Enemy Territory: Quake Wars with a few programming-savvy friends as a hobby. We then thoroughly play-tested our translated version and made sure the UI is properly formatted under all available screen-resolutions and settings.

I am also an experienced EVE player in almost all aspects of the game. In my two years of playing EVE, I have amassed half a trillion ISK worth of assets, not including the value of skill points on the 10+ characters I have kept almost constantly PLEXed. The income comes mostly from market trading and industrial manufacturing, but my initial funds came from mining and mission running. I currently own and operate many Upwell structures, and I have fought many battles to defend them, winning most of them. My countless hours of experience in the many fields of EVE ensure that when I translate something, I have a deep understanding of what the game is trying to tell the player.

I am also a huge fan of sci-fi, and I am familiar with military terminology. Thus my translation will be thematically appropriate. (Serenity has many problems such as translating “capital ships” into “flagships”, and “corporation” into “clan/guild”. My translation will be of much higher quality.)

Finally, I consider it an honor to work on EVE Online, which I consider the greatest MMO in existence.

I’ll gladly fly to Iceland to work for you.

It's not safe out here. It's wondrous, with treasures to satiate desires both subtle and gross. But it's not for the timid.

First, there's a thread for this already.

Second, CCP literally can't. There is a Chinese version of Eve. It's called Serenity. Given this it's highly likely that there is very little actual demand for Chinese Language support on TQ, and further it's even more unlikely that CCP are legally or contractually allowed to do this.

Since doing so would likely mean the closure of Serenity I highly doubt CCP are even going to entertain this idea.

The any Use of the Words "Chinese" and "Democracy" in a conversation would open up Tranquility to massive hacker attacks. Oops

Greetings dear GM,

As you may learn recently lots of Chinese people join in EVE tranquility server to start their new EVE life from EVE Chinese server due to the reason we all know, which said EVE Chinese server may closed in 2017 for the end of the contract. As a Chinese EVE tranquility player I’m so glad that we can meet more bros in tranquility server and obviously tranquility server’s population will more or less improved. But on the other side we also meet a problem in this issue.

1. Chinese game version needed.
Though most of us know about English but there’s still lots of Chinese people didn’t. If we have Chinese version of EVE tranquility, there will be a booster for Chinese people to join in.

2. In game Chinese Chatting Channel needed.
Currently we have a temporary Chinese Channel for people to chat but it has a 50 people’s limited. This has a large gap of Chinese player’s number in EVE life. So please allow me to suggest that we, our Chinese EVE residents need an official place to chatting and communications which is far more than 50 players.

So here is the concerns of current tranquility’s situation. We respect the contract with EVE Chinese server and know euro. We will grateful if these suggestions can be taken seriously and access in highest possible and the sooner the better. I believe this would optimized the game experience for Chinese players in Tranquility and also have positive efforts for attract more Chinese game players (not only from EVE) in future.

Sincerely

Best regards,
