CCP, just FYI 15% off isn't enough.

I've been playing EVE since 2007, yet I've never once taken advantage of any of CCP's sales events. Now, I'm a player who occasionally likes to buy PLEX to sell for ISK, but 15% off simply isn't enough to inspire me to do anything different.

I've thought about it, and I think 20% off is when I would start to care. 25% off would get me thinking I really must take advantage.

CCP, I just thought I'd let you guys know why I'm not participating and what it would take to get me there. You guys have been doing great work lately, no complaints on my end, keep it up! o7

Highsec is owned by players now. Systems 0.5-1.0 are New Order Territory. All miners and other residents of Highsec must obey The Code. Mining without a permit is dangerous and harmful to the EVE community. See www.MinerBumping.com

Dude!

You are in CODE.

You don't need to buy PLEX. Just ask James the lord of high sec for whatever you need.

So CODE is now coming to the forums looking for handouts? Gotten that cheap have they?Roll

Getting 15% off for doing what you normal would do is a pretty good reward. Or.... if you think 15% isnt much Ill buy ALL of CODES ill gotten gains for -15% under jita buy prices..... think that should put it into perspective.Twisted

Have you heard anything I've said?

You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?

That's right.

Had to end sometime.

CCP has access to the actual data to know exactly how many people purchase PLEX at what discount level. It's sweet that you want to help them out with a subjective written explanation, but you aren't telling them anything they don't already know based on hard objective data.

Effing old timers man. They literally think it's all about them. LOL.

I can't recall them ever discounting more than 15% off of PLEX, can we get any corroboration on this? Has CCP ever offered 25% off PLEX?

Sheesh, people pay billions for fits of mods that get less the 15% boost, but right if ships are costing too much maybe just maybe it could be Roll that code is actually having an impact...

No.

When you don't know the difference between there, their, and they're, you come across as being so uneducated that your viewpoint can be safely dismissed. The literate is unlikely to learn much from the illiterate.

I get you, Galaxy. It isn't enough for me to bite, either. Thing is, they've no competition, have they?

I bought one of my favourite pieces of software (EWQL Symphonic Orchestra/Choirs) 2 summers ago (I think), and outright at 50% off. Luckily, that was the year before they switched to monthly plans.

Then, this summer I saw that another thing I liked (Hauptwerk - Organ software) was 15% off. I thought that derisory, but because there's no comparable software for Organ, they can get away with it. Wealthy folks will no doubt dive in; I'll live without it, I guess!

James already operates a SRP, though I've never had to use it - so far. But for activities undertaken outside the New Order, a must-use summer special discount from CCP would be very attractive. Don't hold your breath, though. I'm no economics graduate (I had multiple issues with the tutor, poor chap), but I should imagine that if you've no effective competition you can charge whatever you can get away with for your product.

Acolyte I's and Metal Scraps all round!

Even if you discard the 15% discount, there has never been another time when PLEX is worth more ISK. It's at peak right now, and is poised to crash now that ghost training is removed and isk faucets are starting to be nerfed. You've probably got the rest of the summer, before a huge price crash from August to October.

Yeah, I don't pay for my catalysts, so I'm not worried about ship prices. I just like to occasionally treat myself to a new skirt for my space Barbie and what have you. Big smile

Marketing classes has your name on them.?

Maybe not....

And no the customer is not always right, else Thorax would come in pink and we would have Wendy's quad-patties, with double large frys, and pony keg of Coke-o-cola.

15% is a HUUUUUUUUUGE discount if you think about the people buying 10 / 50 / 100 etc

A 25% discount on PLEX would do insane things to the in game market, which would be funny so i guess i'm in. But still 15% is loads..

I left the states about 6/7 years ago, is this not actually how it is though? It was pretty much already like that when i was there. Phones on the tables in McDonalds so the lazy fat people don't even have to get any exercise walking to order their buckets of chum.

It means you're clearly and evidently butthurt over a lost freighter or something. This is not the thread for that.

Let's try to stay on topic, folks. Lol

Heh, I don't know, I haven't been in a Mc Dees in probably 15 yrs and only eat fast food maybe once every few months.

I normally just go through the drive through, so I don't even have to get outta my car. P

You do hear people complaining, "but isn't the customer always right?", and I'd like to interrupt and reply, "no that was just a PR catch phrase to get you to buy their stuff"!

Edit: Though, most companies will tell you that phrase is true to your face, you know because customers are always right, in their own mind. You never want to directly contradict a customer as a rep from most companies. Let your manager do that. That's why they are paid the big bucks, like 20% more than you, and work 50% harder, most times.
