My first POS... in a wormhole space, how to not die?

One thing you should be aware of. The new fuel blocks have (for minmatar tower) Liquid oxygen and heavy water included! Your tower will burn this fuel reguardless. I see this as a waste if you have no arrays online. You might as well put on as much ECM as possible as this will discourage random attacks and you won't be using any extra POS fuel having them online.

A large POS is currently 400mil isk / month to fuel. One player is probably not even going to earn that in a C2. ie if you cannot commit to reacting with a large pos (which is probably a 1bil investment with risks), then a solo player is going to be out farming for fuel every day, and will probably have a net zero income after 15 hours in the hole a month. Not fun.

I have been living basically solo in a C1 for about 5 months now. I have been averaging about 3-4 bil a month. Now at least 60% of that is PI.

Still though, on average I'd say I make about 500 mil a week off the combat sites that crop up. sometimes I will farm a neighboring WH, but since those are almost always k162 it's not the safest route.

Given that C2's will have a WH static, just find one with a static you are comfortable farming and you should make plenty.

That being said, I would recommend having double the initial investment in the bank. It may not go badly, but it could so it's worth having a cushion.

I'll concede that PI is a good way to offset the pos costs - especially if the pilot isn' t on lots.

I'd say you are spending 40 hours a month on to make your overall income though. A player with 20 hours, and suboptimal dps is really going to struggle to show a lot of income if they are trying to pay for a large pos via combat encounters.

I fit that. In the last 2-3 months work has been killer, greatly reducing my online time. Hence the reason I am probably still in a C1.

I honestly haven't kept that close of tabs on the number of hours I play. Basically most of my days have been wake up, get coffee, scan for new sigs. Run sigs if they are there, get to work (often working from home).

I do have 2 accounts (doesn't every serious eve player?), so I run the anoms with 2 drakes, which takes about 5.5 min to clear a site on average

I have calculated the rough amount of PI time I spend, which equates to an average of 200mil/hour, including hauling time to market.

That said, I would still make on average enough to run my POS and turn a profit on just the C1 combat sites. Keeping in mind each of my characters is only sitting on about 11mil SP right now.

I am sure I could make decent money grinding LVL4 missions (which I had done prior to moving into a WH). And if I could fly an incursion worthy ship I could probably make even more running them. The problem with both is they require a certain level of active playtime. I am lucky to find a 1 hour block of time every so often, and that seems pretty short to try and fleet up to run incursions.

Below is a good link for info about POS's in general.

this will annoy the **** ouf of anyone coming to destroy you.

If they are really determinate they will bring in caps or a massive BS fleet but in the mean time this should do the trick.

i like this! well, i wouldnt, but its good.

if youre a pos gunner though, add a few guns. its good your pos survives, its better if some of their ships dont :)

as for income. a c2 will make more then enough. and since c2 always have a static to another wormhole its not like you will ever run out of any type of site. collapse the wormhole and you got fresh grounds all over again!
