Hi, pretty simple.

I would like to know what angle my ship is travelling at relative to the horizontal plane

See below.

I believe the implementation would be easy as the maths for it has been implemented (for generating the ship's vector)

Furthermore, I believe, if it's possible, the adding of horizontal compass direction be added as well but that may be a little harder.

Any comments/criticisms regarding any of this?

An artificial horizon display incorporating heading and attitude would be nice, especially for manual piloting.
But on the other hand, I have tactical overlay on permanently for ease of bookmark making, and I rarely use first person view.
Perhaps heading and attitude could be optionally available. I can see uses for it in making off-axis bookmarks.

Would it be including in target locks for matching direction and angle to hit shots?
That transversal radial stuff on overview is a pain and takes up more room than its worth unless you know the crazy formulas for it.
Just show me which way he's facing at range and what angle he's flying at relative to me so I know which way to turn to be parallel

Don't know about this. All i want is the ability to see the angle from the horizontal plane. This might be worth posting in a new thread as its a new idea (and decent too)?
