Seriously CCP, you need to put in some mechanism that discourages people from just warping in at the end and killing the boss to get all the loot. A warp disruptor field that generates on drone spawn and stays active until the fight is over or all players leave the vicinity. Drop the end loot in a separate box based on who spawned and majority kill count. Whatever. But the people you are trying to recruit to sub, i.e. those that aren't flying around in the 7 year old T3 ships with 20K SP on their toon, aren't really digging this loot thieving. This might be turning me off the entire game.

If this turns you off then EVE probably isn't the game for you, you just need to do more damage than the other person or find out of the way sites to run, the sites don't belong to anyone hence the game doesn't "protect" anything, welcome to healthy competition, even if the wreck were to be flagged to you, people would just steal the loot because hey know you won't fight for it :P

I actually would be willing to do something if I wasn't going to get worked by Concord for doing it.

Set your safety to green (or yellow), let them steal your loot & go suspect then scram them.

These sites work as they are intended. The loot belongs to the person who kills the ship. If you find that this is happening a lot you may want to adjust your ship use. Find something that complete the sites in a shorter amount of time, or a ship that can move quickly. Wait for them to kill the final NPC, steal the loot yourself and get out of their scram range.

If they play dirty, you should too.

You won't if they steal from you and go suspect.

Pre-lock the potential thief before they steal the loot and be ready to activate your point as soon as they go yellow. CONCORD has no problem with you locking up other players in highsec. If they time it perfectly they might still get away, but you have a decent shot at scrambling them and teaching them a lesson.

The solution is longer sites with mini bosses along the way. So even if someone steals the final boss you get some mini boss loot. Unless they contest you the entire site, in which case unfortunate, but it wasn't a last minute steal.

Run the sites in lowsec so you can shoot the pirate scum.

A Minmatar warship is like a rusting Beetle with 500 horsepower Cardillac engines in the rear, armour plating bolted to chassis and a M2 Browning stuck on top.

highsec exploration involves a lot of contested sites. I suggest flying a ship that has a good chance at getting the final blow, and a prop mod so you can get to the wreck quickly. These are public sites anyone can do them.

Losers of fights always claim a moral victory.

MEANWHILE THIS JUST IN: LOOK WHAT I'VE GOT, OF YOURS!

Why? There are no instances in this game; any PvE site, including those already occupied by others, is open to anybody that wishes to run it.

If someone kills the final ship, the loot is technically theirs; unless you can steal it before they can scoop it, whereupon it becomes technically yours.

I use the word technically because it's not actually yours until it's safely in your hangar.

In other news, and vaguely on topic...

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Nah. The real scumbags are the people like me who will link you the items looted so that you can know what it is you missed out on. Sometime i exagerate, and link a Nyx skin when I shouldn't, but, some people don't seem to like that at all...

This points alpha players somewhat in a scummy direction. To steal all your loot.

But these are opportunities they have. And why they would not become Omega: who pays CCP money anyway these days?

Sites themselves are totaly easy. If there would be no competition with other players they will be so boring repetitive...
Get some medium guns with high alpha strike (like 720mm arty) and make sure you shoot in the right moment, so it will be your wreck + get close to the boss so you can loot him immediately. I think Geckos and some missiles works too.

Hey, that sounds like the "CCP, you need to put in some mechanic that discourages the 1%ers from having low or zero risk and getting phat lewt."
There is a lot of posts that are the same. I think this is a realistic game, just like in RL the good honest people have to work hard so the bad dishonest pigs can buy another jet to sip champagne in. If I were a pig, I'd get my shiny curly tailed behind into the CSM to make sure the good honest hard working players don't mislead CCP into nerfing certain things.

It's your fault if you think the loot is yours. Loot is defined by max dps done on the last npc spawned, that's it.
And no one is stealing anything but the person who does most dps on last npc wins the prize, so it's you who is stealing it, if it is not your wreck.

Get a better ship, do more dps and you'll get the prize.
