Hi again.

I tried to stream to some friends on twitch and I faced a technical issue.

I use a LCD screen Samsung 32" at 1920X1080 pixels. Every time I try to use game built in connection to twitch it reduces my resolution by consequence, bigger stuff on screen and all my UI setup becomes messed. So is there a way to disable this screen resize? Either this or I'm accepting suggestions of free software to do that on twitch or youtube.


A bit offtopic. Does concord work harder on weekends? I've found several warp gates on hisec crowded with them.

Yeah go with obs studios since I believe obs classic isn't still being updated? Not 100% on that. Also as someone who just started streaming don't go by every video for perfect non partnered settings since they are quite dated and dependant on the type of game. For example in a game like csgo and other fps titles typically require more bitrate to avoid artifacting where as a game like eve I can stream 1080/60 at a reasonable bitrate and have it look good. But via twitch that old 3500 kbps max is no longer correct. I believe you can set well past that as I use a bitrate around 6k for 1080p. Csgo and fps titles I stream at 4500 for 720p/60fps.

There is a formula that is a really good rule of thumb for getting a good quality video. I recommend twitch's recommended 0.1 bits per pixel. It'll give you the max bitrate for a resolution /fps where it wont benefit from raising the bitrate and suffer from diminishing returns. For 720p/60fps I believe that max was 4500kbps. Which probably isn't even needed for an eve stream, 3500 is a good starting point for 720p/60. I am gonna check my eve obs profile but I wanna say I use 1080/60 @6000 on the slower CPU preset. But by all means test different ones out to see what works for you. The formula for finding it was res width * height * fps * 0.1 bpp or desired rate divided by 10000 gave you a max bitrate. I'll try and get the formula for you and post it here. Lastly it seems to be a general rule not go exceed 80% of your total bandwith (upload). However my old 100/5 connection had some issues with 720p. I now have the fastest in my area and sadly is only a 250 down / 15 up connection but now streams 1080p no problem. There is a great app on the team liquid forums called Twitch inspector which will test your connection to the twitch ingest servers and generally you'll want one with a good kbps and a solid ping but a solid 80+ connection to the ingest server. Also some of the ingest servers might be a slightly lower total bandwith than what you get on any internet speed test i.e. some people have a 7 Mbps upload or 7000kbs but on twitches ingest server might only range 4000-6000 so I highly recommend twitch inspector along with running a stream test to test new settings out
