Players base and important question

Hi.

Fast background: i'm no one, never was anyone of higher importance, I'm not a PvP master, great FC, famous ganker, no one ever heard about me in a manner of some exeptional event. I'm just a person that likes the whole idea of EVE and don't mind being someone else's killboard trophy, which I often am. I've been around sice 2011, had longer and shorter brakes from the game, finally to come back joining RvB (cheers, you glorious bastards!) and just casually having fun flying cheapest frigs and destros there can be.
I'm not here to tell you what's wrong with the EVE in it's core mechanics, because obviously I don't know a **** about it.

But ther's this thing that worries me. My last break longed few years. From what I remember there was always around 40k to 50k accounts online. Now I see areound 25k. That's a big difference.

I'm here to point out a simple fact, that CCP failed to preserve old players's base number, and from what I can tell, new changes (plex, skill injectors, multuple character training etc.) aren't fixing this. I won't be telling you cheap and dumb catchphrase "boo, hoo, EVE is dying", because that's not the case. 25k accounts online is still fine and if you want to find the action (like me) you'll find it anyway. BUT facts are facts - new changes are meaningless if they are not bringin attention to EVE, in this case a new players. So far they are rather focused on making old folks around the EVE to throw more money in the game.

It's like CCP is standing in the crossroads and is too afraid to take just one path, instead trying to take both at the same time.
We have now alphaclones, you can play for free. You can buy plex if you want to upgrade clone to omega status BUT there still be some microtransactions like skins, vanity items. That's so non player friendy actions. Make it microtransation focused OR give players a significant value to money they are willing to pay on a monthly basis, not both at the same time.

After coming back to EVE after this few years I thought that maybe this promised thing about clones walking around the starbase will be already implemented. Guess what - it was all the time a pointless feature, just so you can throw money at items everyone will be watching just from a goddamn picture in your BIO. What a move CCP!

It's pretty sad that so far CCP is makind weird, non-effective actions, focused more on surviving EVE in it's quirky state, than viewing it as a resource of great potential, which EVE is.

What can we do, to change current course of EVE?
