ESI market history average vs median

After some investigation, I've noticed the average price in the history endpoint corresponds to the median price in the Eve client. So, to clarify, is it the average or the median? Either the field is badly named in ESI, or Eve client is pretty much lying to usSmile This is a rather important question, because it affects some market calculations.
