Hello fellow builders! What should I think about if I want to build a few Command ships now and then?
Is it all about the system index or is it also about other things?

You can easily do that, it's a normal T2 ship requiring invention and T2 components. But if you want to make more than a measly profit you should probably build something else. Blink

I just built a Damnation for personal use because I had the print and most of the components in stock. It would have been about 10 million cheaper to buy the ship in Jita.

The reasons are a speculative bubble in advanced moon material and stockpiles. You need to be very careful building T2 between now and the winter expansion.

Wait, people are stockpiling advance moon components...damn that I am building like mad snd buying much of the same stuff and haven't noticed a spike, but if there's a price spike it's just hype because I'm building fleets of ships for use and sale.

If you havent noticed a spike, then you havent been producing t2 hulls for very long. I stopped producing t2 ships precisely BECAUSE there was a massive price spike in the moongoo the day the Refinery devblog released. Granted, it demolished profit margins so heavily that calling it a spike is a bit of misinformation, it's more like a price boom. Margins also shifted so heavily since then that something that had profit one day had a large loss the next week.

I'd venture that most of the hulls on the market arent people manufacturing all of them, but a large majority of them are probably stockpiled hulls people are offloading at high points.

The Sleipnir is ~355m in jita, and buy all for the mats is is showing 361m, you would make more money selling the components than the actual ship. That's not even counting invention costs, or build costs.

so yea build as many as you can! it's clearly a great idea!

Some people seem to agree! I had a large stockpile of T2-ship blueprint copies lying around after it got unprofitable, so my industry-alt has beeen selling them for a while. Now almost all of them are gone! Clearly, someone is thinking tiny profits and actual losses are awesome. P
