If there is one activity I HATE in eve it's ICE mining.
But you know what's worse then mining ICE for hours?

Playing Star Wars the Old Republic. Maybe I was playing it wrong but I found the game mechanics to be utterly dull with zero challenge and simply confusing, the graphics are terrible and I'm so pissed that I paid all that money!!! At least eve online has a 14 day trial offer, if I had known SWTOR was such garbage I would have spent that money on a monocle instead!!!!

Waste of time, you have been warned. Eve is more Star Wars then Star Wars....

Every day in every way I improve my skills and get better.

Why do you hate ICE? Rolemaster was fun as hell with all its tables.

yeah sad thing is I paid for me and my son to play and it was 120 bucks and it sucks. I did get to 50 but my son quit in like 2 or 3 days and went back to Halo and Team Fortress.

Getting to 50 is nothing to brag about either. Not like getting 20 million SP in EVE and being like HOOYA

Fact of the day: There was a time period in SWTOR where using some kind of /dance command would make enemies continually miss all attacks against you.
It was possible to be the tank of a group, simply by dancing.

For that reason (among others) I avoided SWTOR like the plague.

Mining ice is fine for AFK isk, but as a game mechanic it sucks, it's more like farmville then anything else. You click on a crop plant your lasers and wait for something to show up in your cargo, then you haul that cargo back to base drop it off and return, repeat ad nauseum.

I realize it's a fun activity to do while reading a book or masturbating, but come on ice mining should be removed out of game and handed over to ice mining agents, that collect ICE for you every hour, just like datacores.

I mean seriously who likes to mine ice???

Every day in every way I improve my skills and get better.

Um folks who are station trading in Jita with the remote skills? I'd think you'd rather be asteroid mining for that though, you can use the cycles to time the update cooldowns on the orders menu.

But yeah is we took out POS moon mining and put in POS ice mining, I'd be fine with that (within limits).

Bioware has many tough lessons to learn over the coming months. It's been pretty obvious that they are completely naive and clueless about running an MMO.

Hell, compare CCP's patch notes for 1.1 compared to the TOR patch notes for about the same amount of time. A lot of us are left scratching our heads wondering what Bioware has been doing for the past month. Obviously not fixing some very annoying and easy to reproduce bugs.

(I've become very spoiled by CCP over the last 6 months. They listen. They give feedback. It's 10x easier to file a bug report in EVE then TOR.)

Why I am against mining ice as an "activity" in game.

1. It goes against the principles of an MMO.
2. Mining ICE in group is the SAME as mining ice alone, see above.
3. Bots.
4. Zero challenge like SWTOR, but eve has better graphics and the ice turrets are pretty.

which reminds me, BIOWARE how can you **** up light sabers? Does no one know how to ADDITIVELY composite in your graphics engine??? I have seen better looking light sabers on Youtube done by amateurs!!!

I can't believe the same company made mass effect , a game I really like.

Hating SW-TOR won't make EVE better.

We jump through gates every day never knowing what's on the other side. SW-TOR was sold for what it was. I didn't buy it, have no plan to buy it. It wasn't what I wanted.

Exhumer 5
Ice Harvesting 5
Ice reproc 4

Took much longer than the time I would need to buy SW-TOR. Add in both Macki and Hulk cost more to fit and rig than a comand ship, can be popped in one volley by a T1 fit ship that costs .25 as much with out a sideways glance? I can be forced to dock up and log out of my Macki by a couple of destroyers for months at a time?

I don't see SW-TOR as being the rip off you try and paint it out to be.

To be fair, it's a lot easier to listen to a few thousand people compared to a few million. I like niche games community for this reason.

No? Eve has a trial period, ganted you can't do everything you can with a paying account but at the very least they extend you the courtesy , like a good drug dealer, to try their product for free, because they know once you try it you will be hooked. Then they have you and you keep playing while your wallet is ganked.

SW-TOR is a new game. Show me any MMO in the history of MMO's that launches with a trial.

You want a better comparison?
Who is the sucker that ponied up for an Oracle BPO? Good luck getting your money back out of that one any time in the next 2 years.

I'm starting to see how this is a good thing, when you reach 1 million subscribers you have to dumb down your game, at least that is how I experienced SWTOR.

The worst part is that I wanted to like it, I was even looking forward to downloading the HUGE 7 gig file, waiting for their server to even BEGIN downloading after purchasing the game a day earlier. Yes, I bought the game and could not download for a whole day due to "sorry this feature is not working at the moment try again later" are you frakin kidding me?

If you think you're going to play a star wars game think again, swtor is a joke and it doesn't feel like star wars, just because it has the same musical cues, and the bigger joke was on my wallet.

You start out as a sith warlord, cool right? You look like the character from TANGLED, a Disney Sith Lord, you dont have a light sabre you have a baton, thats right you don't get the light saber until later, and you hunt creatures that look like lizards, in star wars game.

You know I can paint a trash can to look like r2d2 but guess what it aint.

Every day in every way I improve my skills and get better.
