Why isn't there a subject about Fuel-blocks.

What will happen to the prices and the prices of the items needed for the blocks?
How long will it take to get a nice stable market?
And do many of you already manufacture them?

I am not into the fuel block business, but i guess you'd be way late to the party if you wanted to profit from the transition.
I think i recall a discussion about the market already being flooded with blueprints for the blocks, for example.

Completely untrue. All my fuel block buy orders lose money.

As to the fate of fuel blocks? They'll descend to the "minerals are free" level and stay there.

Well I don't use buy orders but what I have written in several threads about trends and tralala.

meh. bought a small supply of gallente fuel blocks. took forever to sell but made 80% profit. Not really worth it the time it took to sell it though.

If you use buy orders for mats, buy and refine the ice and own your own POCO, then it will be a gold mine. Basically like anything else in EVE.

we're planning to buy up all the fuel block inputs as well as cheap fuel blocks on the 24th. imagine oxytope-like price spikes across the entire market.

As a POS owner, I'll just yawn and sit on my massive pile of ready-to-go blocks that will last me for the next two months...

Edit: In fact if the prices do spike hard, I guess I could even sell maybe half of them at mad prices and then just wait as the market distortion passes.

erm......I turned 50,000,000 in BOUGHT Ice and P2 into 175,000,000 ISK in Fuel blocks.

You are doing SOMEthing wrong.

I don't really understand the subject line on this thread. There appears to be a thread about fuelblocks at the top of MD.

Uh, could this be due to the fact that there is barely any demand for them yet?

Fuel Blocks can be produced way too fast in big numbers to be a target of serious med/long term speculation.

(makes popcorn)
(watches people panic as fuel blocks pass the 19-20k ISK/u point)

Enjoy it while it lasts, it'll drop back down to 13-15k ISK/u within a week or two. The underlying material costs would have to go way up to sustain the current speculation prices.

I'm interested to see what happens after the patch today, have people bought/made the fuel they need or are there unprepared pos owners about?

In hindsight my post should have had more psssshhhh

I'm interested to see how many offline towers I can find with juicy Silos ready to pop with goodies... Pirate

Edit: I'm also interested to see how many QQ threads we get with clueless people who somehow, over the past month or two, never heard about Fuel Blocks before and now have a massive pile of offline towers that are being pillaged.

(Yes, you can't just unanchor stuff even if tower is offline but what you can do is shoot any structures that were under the force field holding goods - Silos, Corporate Hangars, Ship Maintenance Hangars... they pop easily and drop loot)

Any self respecting tower owner will have stocked up on fuel blocks, so I doubt there will be a huge increase in prices.

But all in all, a supply of blocks for a standard large tower is 28880 blocks for a month of 30 days, so to be fairly honest the current available supply in the major hubs such as Rens, Jita, Amarr etc will take a nice hit considering there aren't that many available (maybe for 2-3 years of supply for one tower).

So anyone who hasn't planned for it will rush. And knowing how lazy I can be sometimes, I am fairly certain that tons of people decided to put this off until the last minute and we will see a small 2-3 days price spike. Nothing much, maybe a small 20% and that's it.
