[10 June] Happy Holiday to All Caldari!

Today is the 9th Anniversary of one the greatest battle and greatest victory the Caldari State has achieved: the liberation of Caldari Prime from almost two hundred years of Gallente oppression. Today we celebrate not only excellence of Caldari Weapons, not only Spirits of Caldari soldiers, but also our ability to stand together and fight shoulder to shoulders as brothers and sisters in the face the common enemy.

Nine years ago the whole state, all our eight megacorporations: Lai Dai, Nugeihuvi, Kaalakiota, Wiyrkomi, Hyasyoda, CBD, Sukuuvestaa, and even Ishukone stood together, united by common goal and one man, whose name will be forever etched in heart of every Caldari citizen as the greatest hero of our nation - Tibus Heth. Let us remember that all our differences are not important, while we have the common enemy that threatens our systems, our homeworld, our whole way of life.

Tibus Heth has returned us our homeword in probably one of the most brilliant operations known to whole cluster. The invasion and liberation with a lightning speed, that forced gallente to return us what they stole and sign Luminaire peace treaty of YC110, that acknowledged Caldari Prime as Caldari State territory.

But the war is not over yet. Gallente again tried to occupy our homeworld, violating the treaty they signed. They are still trying to invade our Black Rise.

This victory was possible only because we all forgot our differences, we weren't just representative of our corporations. We were Caldari.

So lets stay united once again, hold our hands and form the impenetrable wall, honor our soldiers and friends, who died during this war, and lets liberate our space from gallente infestations!

Glory to the State!

And also a small reminder: drink responsibly.

Honored are the dead, for their legacy guides us.

In memory of Tibus Heth, Caldari State Executor YC110-115, Hero and Patriot.

You're aware that he ordered your admiral to use the titan against the planet, yes? Which would have killed everyone on the planet, and rendered it uninhabitable. And that the admiral, for refusing to obey this order, is regarded as a hero? After she was killed by Heth for not destroying the planet.

May 25, YC 115, the Chief Executive Panel announced the findings of the hearing: Admiral Visera Yanala had not been killed as the result of a failed clone activation, but rather had been forced to partake in a “Tea Maker Ceremony” by Tibus Heth himself. Any claims of a failed clone activation had been announced as part of a cover-up organized by Heth and enforced by the Provists on the staff of the cloning facility which received Yanala after her podding in Luminaire. According to testimony from Mininela Erinen, upon learning that Yanala had failed to discharge the Shiigeru’s Oblivion Doomsday Weapon upon Luminaire VII, Heth summoned Erinen to Yanala’s post-rebirth chamber, which had been placed under Provist guard. A brief interrogation revealed Yanala’s refusal to fire the Leviathan’s Doomsday system, after which Heth ordered Yanala to ingest hak’len tea, a poisoned drink consumed in the course of a Caldari ritual (during which an individual condemned to death personally drinks the substance-if the individual survives, it is believed that said individual has been spared death through divine intervention and is therefore innocent). Intimidated by the Provist presence and unable to resist Heth’s orders, Erinen watched as Yanala drank the tea in defiance of Heth “as punishment for ever following Heth in the first place.” Moments later, Yanala was dead due to respiratory failure.

Tibus Heth did not return you your homeworld, he nearly destroyed it. Admiral Visera Yanala returned you your homeworld. Don't forget who your heroes were. And what made them heroes.

Only the liberty of the individual assures the prosperity of the whole. And this foundation must be defended.

Dude, are you saying it just to annoy Caldari?
I might not be history expert, but it's damn obvious that it was actually Tibus Heth who returned the planet to Caldari, and Visera Yanala was that titan pilot and commander-in-chief of the task force that lost the fight for that planet.

I would kindly ask you to cease your offensive comments and attempts to rewrite the history. Let Caldari have their fun - they aren't hurting anyone.

Ms. Hanaya! For your edification, as I assume as Ms. Kim's wingmate she would not have briefed you on Tibus Heth ordering Yanala to Doomsday Caldari Prime, and then forcing her to commit suicide to cover up his order.

I am not her wingmate.
And thank you, I am educated enough to recognize someone who jumps in to insult instead of negotiate or argue.

Your presence together with your hand parrot is neither welcome nor desirable.

Ms. Hanaya, this is a holiday, and it is about uniting our people. While I am grateful for you to speaking for us, I would like to remind, there are always bad people who will want to see Caldari people weak and apart, who bring discord into our ranks, who post half-witted comments that they consider "funny" for the sake of annoyance of readers and just laugh at what Caldari people feel important. Just ignore them today, despite their obnoxiousness, Ms. Hanaya.

With respect, Kim-haani, you could have just said it was a holiday and to keep the thread on topic, rather than throw out a passive aggressive comment meant to get the last word in.

Best wishes to the Caldari people in the celebrations that took place yesterday, and may your heroes live on in your thoughts and memories.

Ms. Hanaya; apologies. I suppose after the recent update of the command protocol system, lurking in Black Rise in a link Loki is no longer viable.

However, to the matter at hand. My views on Heth are on record. Despite the desires of some to ignore his crimes, Heth's misdeeds are a matter of the historical record. Willful ignorance does nothing to change that Heth is a criminal who would have destroyed the State in his megalomania.

Indeed, we can lay Myrskaa and the fourteen million dead there at his feet. Without Heth emboldening the Dragonaur, and using them as his thugs despite their being a terrorist organization, it may have been that Kaalakiota may not have turned a blind eye to Jaron and Ohmon Kasaras.

I still remember the elation of the recapture of Caldari Prime. I'm sure many Caldari remember where they were that day. Elation, however, turned to despair as the war was allowed to grind on, and as Gariushi's death was used to betray Gariushi's legacy by racists and xenophobes.

Let us, then, not celebrate on that day. Let us instead reflect.

Happy Victory Day, Caldari !!
I hope next year I will finally get my citizenship too and will make it to all the largest celebrations! I heard fireworks at Matigu were most spectacular!

And don't let enemies darken your holiday! Just have fun without them!

Honoured are the dead, for their legacy guides us and their example binds us to the Way.

I will be thinking of the many lost, in the pursuit of freedom and the right to self-determination. Glory to the State and glory to it's Citizens.

For the first time since I started the conversation, he looks me dead in the eye. In his gaze are steel jackhammers, quiet vengeance, a hundred thousand orbital bombs frozen in still life.

It is always worth the time to reflect on the heroes of an empire. You may think that Tibus Heth isn't a hero or but is a war criminal, but countless others think he is a hero. He fought for what he believed in and drew together a fragmented people to strike back at the pleasure seeking gallente drones. I will be one of the many raising a glass to his name tonight.

History has many lessons to teach our children's children's children through these events. I personally believe we are collectively too close to the events in question to see those lessons clearly.

To reduce the holiday to the honor/criticism/memory of one individual, or even one organization, cheapens it. Thoughtless adherence to political theatrics of yesteryear and obsession with arekaini saaja - that is, exacting vengeance - cheapen further all that which we have gained. Countless are the names of those who fell in the struggle for liberation of our homeworld, and countless further are those who have died in the continuing defense of freedom. Regardless of what any person or persons may think of them, or their cause, or their leaders, the countless dead gave their lives in pursuit of a cause in which they believed, and the society they and their families sacrificed so dearly for stands proud and strong today in testament to their faith, their hope, and their indomitable will.

You really shouldn't generalize. The defining aspects of a culture are often made by its elites, its highly educated bourgeoisie (And there is never even a consensus there). Not its average family. Billions of Gallenteans lead rather normal lives, hold quiet faiths, traditions, and enjoy simple community life. This is especially true of the Jin-Mei, Intaki, and Mannar. The city doesn't define the country, the elite do not define the commoners. And the Federation doesn't define its member states.

This is true everywhere, by the way, much as we like to ignore it.

I travelled the Amarr Empire for years, and was stunned by how many quiet heretics and atheists I found.

I lived and did business in the conservative State for years, and was stunned by what I saw there behind closed doors, absent public appearances. And what I saw for sale.

I've taken many lessons from my mother on what the Republic was like (though I've never stayed here long). From what she told me of her home, it was a vibrant mix of tribes but also a developing world, fighting its poverty head on, and establishing its democratic republic to fight the negative aspects of the tribe system, whilst trying to preserve its roots at the same time. Metamorphosis was common here, contrary to the stereotype of the tribes being stuck in their ways. I've corroborated this with the testimony of many Matari friends and many, many books.

Things are rarely so simple as, perhaps, our leaders, or the media, lay them out to be. The more exotic places you visit, the more you'll see the people are essentially the same.

Only the liberty of the individual assures the prosperity of the whole. And this foundation must be defended.
