Teaming up for Hisec ganking

Hello,

I am looking to join a team or corp focused on small scale hisec ganking, with the exception of freighters. I am experienced and can offer 2 toons: a scanner and a looter. I also have a ganker but it requires activation on a third account. Ideally if you can fly a vexor or a rupture with gank fit, I can scan for you and loot for us. Or I can activate my ganker account. Whatever works.

I am looking to relive the thrill of this experience after 2 years of absence from eve. My old teammates are no longer playing. Partnering up with someone interested will make things much more fun and efficient. I can offer training for interested newbies.

Thanks

It would be more flexible to team up with 1 other player. We will work out the roles based on skills and experience. It was so fun two years back.

By the way, did CCP patch the drop rate from suicide ganking? Most of the killmails in 2017 have a drop rate of less than 50% of the carried value. I used to get up to 80%-100% very frequently but that no longer seems to be the case.

Welcome, brother!

Highsec is owned by players now. Systems 0.5-1.0 are New Order Territory. All miners and other residents of Highsec must obey The Code. Mining without a permit is dangerous and harmful to the EVE community. See www.MinerBumping.com

so let me ask the age old question :)

How is it fun to gang high sec delvers beyond the first few attack?
I mean it's a bit like shooting fish in a barrel, you jump in, pewpew, die to concord. rinse, repeat. no challenge or risk to make it fun

The billions of loot that drops makes it all worthwhile.

Have you tried ganking before spouting this nonsense?

For some it's mastering the equation for profitability. You have to balance dps (ships and fits) vs the expected drop.

For instance do I go for the full caldary navy fit raven or do go for that kronos w/ the 2 purple mods??? The raven provides for a lower payout, but some guaranteed income. The kronos has the seduction of a sweet payout if the loot fair drops her panties just right. You have 6 tier three gank cruisers.... you make the call.

If you get to the point as a scout, that, at the end of 4 hours (1 mission cupcake gank per hour) you can always show your boys a profit - that feels good. It's not easy and tbh, some days the loot fair just won't give up her honey. This style of ganking does have it's entertainment value.

NOW, the code style hoo haw. It's just awful. Not morally (because wtfizdat in Eve), but content and funnability - it's just junk game play. Gank cat vs. miner hull 600 is pretty much like living on crackers and water. That's why they are deep immersion role players. The actual game play sux soooooooooo much, they get their fun jousting at relevancy on the forums and making up embarrassing web pages. I mean, just wait and see. Some code ninny will pounce on this post with 3 tons of role play rhetoric, chest beating over a cause normal players don't have the time to understand or maybe just call me a name. It's coming and calling the shot like I am right now won't deter them. It's the deep immersion role play - that's all they really have.

Freighter/hauler ganking - that's just a simple scan and simple numbers crunching. It's a job. A means to an end. Wonk fluffy hauler - get loot - repeat. In my opinion it's the blue color man at his best. Working the land and bringing home the bacon for his family. No shame, no glory and no role play. Good wholesome Eve-ery.

So there you have it. For some it's a challenge. Some it's about the role play. Others it's just good honest earning in a space ship. These are the general reasons. I am confident there are many more.

I'll ask you, where is the fun in running Angel's Extravaganza or any other mission for the 100th time? It's not like there aren't 40+ easily googled guides to explain to even the most incompetent player how to get through it. It's all relative dude.

I've lived in Madi-Niarja for a couple of years now, mostly ganking during the wee hours of night. I can say that scanning down ships looking for something gank worthy is pretty dull; I've gone several hours without undocking for anything, but I still get a rush seeing them explode and rushing in to grab the big loot. I'm sure if I went out to make a living in a WH/Null I could easily make more isk in a couple hours of grinding, but I like having a pile of loot that was almost exclusively acquired from blowing up or stealing from other players.

I'd say your description is pretty spot on for me.

Oh there are always new challenges. But mostly the satisfaction comes from accomplishing something as a team. That, and the entertaining ways people react to getting ganked.

Look at it this way, ganking somebody is kind of like picking a random EVE player, and then giving them a firm handshake and a "how do you do." A very firm and completely unexpected handshake. The fun comes from the way your relationship develops afterwards. Fundamentally, gankers are just folks who have a deep love for all mankind and want to share that love with their fellow players...in antimatter form.
