Mission Multiplier

Some people in my alliance were running a mission fleet and they asked if I would join. I wanted to say yes but I made up some BS reason why not to. The real reason is that I can run level 4's solo pretty fast and adding a sub 800 DPS BS to the mix won't increase my speed by enough to warrent a 50% loss in bounties and mission rewards.

I think there should be a mission multiplier where when you accept the mission the rewards increase by a % based on the number of players in fleet upon completion AND the amount of enemy ships in the mission increases by a % based on size of fleet upon acceptance of the mission.

I feel like this would give more incentive to play as a group rather than soloing through missions. I know Diablo 3 had to implement something like this in order for group play to be worth it. They gave a gold find and EXP buff based on number of party which drastically increased the number of players playing together.

I believe ccp already want to do something like this. Its gonna take years though.

EVE FAQ "7.2 CAN I AVOID PVP COMPLETELY? No; there are no systems or locations in New Eden where PvP may be completely avoided"

It would be nice, but if EVE players CAN game a system, they WILL game a system.

Then the new meta is whatever uses that mechanic to multiply rewards the most. :P

That's why I said what I did. The mission rewards are increased by X% based on number of people in fleet upon acceptance and at turn in and the enemies get increased by X% based on how many people are in fleet upon acceptance of mission.

This way you can't just accept a mission with less people and then add a bunch of people in at the end to increase rewards because the game will recognize that you have less people in your fleet and adjust accordingly.

If mission rewards scale, so must mission difficulty - if you bring a bigger fleet, so do the NPCs. This would automatically scale both bounties and loot.

The Blood Raider shipyard already does this to some extent - CCP still has a lot of work to do before the new AI is ready for missions but I don't think it will take years.

They could also use the same scaling matrix they developed for the incursions with revisions from lessons learned from the Incursion fleets. It would create a bell curve for rewards and difficulty based on the level of mission.

It's not safe out here. It's wondrous, with treasures to satiate desires both subtle and gross. But it's not for the timid.

It sounds like the incursion LP rewards system. That system wants you to bring a very particular number of players to a site: too few, and you're missing out on DPS and LP. Too many, and you're just missing out on LP.
