Mach > Vargur for Angel Anoms?

Evening!

I can currently get 26 - 27mil ticks doing hubs or havens with the following fit

I'm trying to improve my ticks as I'm about half a year away from even thinking about flying a carrier. Been trying to fit a vargur which wont need to go into bastion mode but I seem to be failing bad at it.

My Mach is cap stable without the mwd going and does about 1.2k dps angel tank.

Any vargur fit I try (usually copied and tweaked from zkill) comes out with less tank, much worse cap and only about 100 to 200 more dps (admittedly usually better tracking).

Is there no way to fit a vargur to beat a Machs tick without resulting to siege mode?

I do have alts but there SP is pretty poor, I tried increasing the ticks by bringing my alts raven in but the frigate waves of a haven still delayed me giving roughly the same tick rate.

Any advice would be welcome thanks!

vargur is a more expensive ship.
get one of your alts into a vni to help with dps? mach tanks all the site, fit the vni full damage with 4 dda.

also that fit it's not perfect for angel?

they do explo and kinetic damage.

so you want or explo+kinetic mod or explo+adapv mod.
doing this may enable you to drop the boost amplifier for a tracking computer... need to test it.

others pro ratters will give you better suggestions. Blink

edit: also an armor solution on the mach could be better.
leaving you 4 mids for application!

mach does more dps so it should get the bigger ticks. vargur you can brick tank and faceroll things with

If you have two accounts, having an alt along in a dumbo VNI with drone assist is ridiculously cheap additional DPS.

Something like this should do the trick:

You can play around a little with it and try things like remote cap transfers if you like. VNI's are basically Attack Battlecruisers (Battleship size weapons on a Cruiser size hull) and, imho, are probably the most flexible hull in the game.
If you notice that the VNI is *never* getting shot, you can start reducing the tank a little. I used to do this with a Gila/VNI combo and a target painter on the Gila maintained rat aggro. Dunno if AI changes means that won't work anymore.

Do not get into a carrier for ratting. CCP is nerfing fighters agian.

I'll have to give the vni a whirl on my alt. Only issue i have with that is rat agression to drones seems horrible now.

Yep after today's announcement I'm not gonna bother training my main into carriers. I might go for the vertical awesomeness of the nag. Or something more sensible.

As to the mach fit it might be eve hq calculating wrong. Two adaptive give better angel tank on eve hq when compared to a kinetic and an explosive. Prob due to them doing more explosive than kinetic.

yea you are right, just checked.
explo and kinetic are primary. thermal and em play a marginal role that let the adaptive invul be more effective.
