I didn't even realize we still had the same logo creation system, seemingly created by Play-Skool and Fisher Price. Holy crap...

This needs to change. We should be able to upload our own designs for corporation logos. I heard Alliances can do that, but corps are limited to the Fisher Price Corporation Logo Creator. Brilliant. Skulls, stars and simple shapes to your heart's content!

Why is this still not a thing? To make things simple, i think it would be best to be able to upload your design. And, if need be.. it needs to go through a screening period before being given the go-ahead, so people aren't posting any inappropriate pictures as their corp logo. This really is a basic basic that should be here by now.

It would have to be vetted.
That means CCP paying someone (or several people) to vet designs.
What would you be prepared to pay?

Presently, only Alliances can submit logos for approval. They need to be reviewed for being appropriate to Eve and compliant with the terms of service, and then CCP needs to modify the logo slightly so that the alliance retains their copyright on the original logo, while CCP creates a licensed derivative work they can package with the game.

Because of how involved this process is, there are requirements for alliance age, size, etc. Corps are too easy to make, and if even alliances need to meet a certain minimum to be worth CCP's time, it's definitely not worth it to spend time on corp logos.

A suggestion for more corp logo parts to choose from would be welcome. So many of them have a medieval coat of arms feel. I'd prefer a new logo system that maybe has separate color and texture options, instead of certain colors being metallic and others being flat or gradient. It could be an opportunity to make the parts vectors, as well, so they scale nice on high-DPI screens.

GTA Online has a good Emblem Creator for what it is. But being able to upload pictures would be best. Giving players the ability to report inappropriate logos could be used as a feature, also. The current corp logo design system should be embarrassing for CCP.

Additions to the existing system would be welcome, but it's simply not legally feasible for CCP to allow unlimited uploading of logos. Even if something gets reported immediately if it's copyrighted content CCP could still be held legally liable.

Also someone would still have to review all of those reports, so the same problem still exists.
