Cant run launcher, starts then closes! Help!

This has just started happening in the past day or so checked launcher logs and get this

Yes, I got that error.

However, I also had issues with the launcher itself failing to update to the most recent version.

Debug log contained this:

[0527/051131:ERROR:resource_bundle.cc(720)] Failed to load C:\EVE\Launcher\resources\qtwebengine_devtools_resources.pak
Some features may not be available.
[0527/051131:ERROR:resource_bundle.cc(720)] Failed to load C:\EVE\Launcher\resources\qtwebengine_devtools_resources.pak
Some features may not be available.


However, the update log (in the base EVE folder) showed that the updater did NOT copy the update file over the evelauncher executable.

I suspect that I have Windows a bit more secured than they expect.

I renamed evelauncher.exe to evelauncher_old.exe, and then manually copied the update file to the launcher directory, and renamed it to evelauncher.exe. This appears to have fixed the problem.

I do not know if it will fix your problem, however.

I think I may have missed something. Where can I find the update file you copied and renamed to evelauncher.exe?

EDIT: Nevermind. Found this solution and it worked for me. I hope it helps.

I have the same problem since 2017.06.01, GM Spider told me to try the delete cache method (btw the instructions she gave me are word for word the same as were provided to McHalls Killer) and "Please let me know if the above solution proves unsuccessful. Thanks."

It didn't make any difference.

So I told her it didn't work....with no response from her or CPP .

Hi: I have had the same problem up until last night, I put a support ticket in and we tried a number of things to no avail.

Last night a corpmate (I was playing on my laptop) suggested that I look at the c:\windows\inf\setupapi.dev.log which shows hardware updates and I found an update for my video drivers the night that the launcher stopped working.

I rolled the driver back to the previous version and the launcher stopped crashing.

Perhaps this might work for you?
