The causality trailer showed a rather nice animation of the ship flying into the hangar, docking, and then the station services screen fading in.

DO WANT. If you guys could work that in, instead of a black loading screen... Would love long time.

Also, not sure if right subforum... Straight

EDIT for better idea:

Of course this should be optional.

It would be sweet to see your ship fly around the "corner" and through the entrance to the bay area.

So instead of waiting a couple seconds for the game to load up you want to add delay time with an animation so that you have something to watch while you wait even longer for the game to load up?

The entire animation is only a couple seconds. It would be no different than the fade in from black they have now, and obviously should be able to turn this off. If its a matter of caching the required resources, many players would be fine with this - Personally I have all sorts of available ram for that purpose.

Anyone who has a fast enough computer that this might add another second of loading would typically have enough ram to cache this data. For anyone else, its likely that their PC gives them lengthy load times anyways.

Please don't be a typical grumpy old eve player who resists change at all cost.

Go watch the video, its literally less than 2 seconds of animation. This time is already taken up by the fade-in.

Skip to 1:55. Animation is 3-5 seconds long. I propose a slightly earlier popup of the UI, but that looks sweet either way.

While we are at it with caching data, I would love it if the station data could be cached for nearly instant loads, but I wont get too greedy here.

I have lots of ram xD

The UI should appear immediately, but the animation can happen in the background.

So if you are in hangar mode, you start off with no ship, then the ship flies in within a few seconds.

Of course this should be optional.

All warfare is based on deception and logistics. Battles and soldiers are secondary priorities.

Oh, that would be even better. Gonna edit my first post with this. Good idea.

If it's optional and can be turned off, go for it. It's merely cosmetic and just there for the 'cool' factor some people think it will add to the game. A good few pilots will probably ignore it and carry on as now.

WoW holds your hand until end game, and gives you a cookie whether you win or lose. EVE not only takes your cookie, but laughs at you for bringing one in the first place...

Implying that only bad pilots like cosmetic things that create deeper game immersion.

EDIT: for reading comprehension fail..

"A good few", is not "a few good". My mistake lol

I wasn't saying pilots who like cosmetic stuff are bad, just some will like it but some won't. That's all
