Launcher - Hitting play does nothing. Possible fix.

I've been seeing quite a few players complaining that when they press play on the launcher the client never appears. The launcher log shows the following.

[Date and time] default debug Connecting signals for "tq" 
[Date and time] default debug Checking running processes 
[Date and time] default debug Checking 4820 for "tq" 
[Date and time] default debug Found a running process for "tq" 
[Date and time] default debug Attaching process 4820 0x8e4 
[Date and time] default debug Checking 4264 for "tq" 
[Date and time] default debug Found a running process for "tq" 
[Date and time] default debug Attaching process 4264 0x8ec 
[Date and time] default debug Entering app.exec 

Meaning it thinks EVE is already running. This appears to be corrupt cache files caused by a login bug. The fix is to delete the launcher cache to force the launcher to refresh the cache.

* Press the windows key + R to open a run window.
* Copy and paste the following into the run window and press enter.

%LOCALAPPDATA%\CCP\EVE\cache\QtWebEngine

* Right click on the folder named 'default' and delete it.
* Start the launcher and see if the issue persists.

If this does not resolve the issue then please submit a ticket through customer support and select the launcher category.

and you lose half of your stored accounts just like it just happened to me .....

Didn't work for me.

Hit Play, exefile.exe process appears in task manager , *crickets chirping* , no game .. What?

Having the same issues now. Logged out for an hour, came back and can't access eve from the launcher. Tried to delete the cache as mentioned and did not work. Hope it works tomorrow. Kinda sucks to loose game time though.

Mine is messing up too. Reverting back to old drivers doesn't help and I can't log in. Game boots but then sits in the task bar and is a no show on the screen. Come on CCPLS get this fixed k?

I opened the launcher today.

It downloaded a little update.

Now I'm perpetually stuck at the checking GUI screen.

It has been doing the same thing. Is there anyway to manually delete the file?

I've tried this and also tried the launcher setting 'reset launcher to defaults'

didn't do anything

By now I tried everything I could think of (and stuck it into a ticket as well ... ):

* Deleting Shared Folder
* Verify Cache
* DirectX 9 Mode
* Run as Admin
* Reinstalled the game
* Reinstalled the game with preloaded 7z File


I click Play Game ... exefile.exe starts and takes 294mb RAM and 25% CPU ... and ... nothing. Stays that way for ever.
Something changed today though ... it now takes 302mb RAM

I had this issue a couple weeks ago and it randomly went away and now it's happening again. Fun.

Got a 18mb patch today. Suddenly all working fine.... weird
