After doing quite a bit of research C3>C4 solo?

Goal: Setup a farm hole solo to fund myself as my we don't farm together so it's up to us to source our own isk for pvp, we live in a C2/C5/NS so running home sites isn't really helpful.

After diving around the forums and reddit I'm pretty confident that I've settled on finding/farming c3's over my typical c5 solo ventures in my golem. I have to field 2.3b just to be able to do the sites in a c5 and it's painfully slow. The past 3 times I've ran sites new sigs have popped and I've been scouted multiple times now in the marauder. I've have to coast out of bastion with that damn timer to refit to stabs and bail on the site. It's just getting annoying.

I want to know if running C4's is even worth it solo for isk/hr, keep in mind I will only be running one combat pilot, should I just stick to C3's instead?

It seems that a ton of the C4 holes are uninhabited, that has to be for a reason, due to the crap aspect of high RR and ranges of the rats.

Any input and feedback is appreciated.

In generall C4>C3

The reasons for that are very simple.
Most C4s are very quiet while in the most C3s you feel like that you are in a rail station.
Next thing is C4 anos are around 90-100 mil most of the blue loot comes BS and C3 anos 45-60 mil most of the loot comes from cruiser that are harder to hit with high DPS large guns.
Now lets say you are looking for a nice static to farm with good preconditions (no open holes, no aktive players, no bad effect for your setup ...) for 500 mil you have to find a C4 with 5-6 anos or a C3 with 10-12 anos. You understand what I mean. And everything under 500 mil per farming run is not worth the preparations.

But C4s also have disadvantages. To farm them efficient you need a ship that pulls out a good amound of dps up 100 km or is very mobil while tanking 1400-1500 dps. And no missiels and drones are not effcient they work but thats all.

C4 vs C3 solo really depends on your skills. I think you need some pretty high level skills and fits to run a C4 more efficiently than you can run a C3 with moderate skills and a 700m isk Rattlesnake. Certainly the payouts are lower in a C3, but the completion times are much faster and you don't have to put as much isk on the field.

I had little trouble finding an empty C3 with a LS static and another one with a NS static. Neither gets any appreciable traffic.

I say run both classes and see which is more efficient from an isk/hr standpoint and which you feel safer in. I personally like C3s with a Rattlesnake, but I have much less experience in C4s.
