Hi everbody

As someone who's returned to EVE after seven years, I would like to say "Wow, a lot has changed" and with that i would like to propose a minor addition to the game, something that might a be a welcome addition. Now most of us dread the moment we are podded and killed when we are packing a whole slew of implants but why not be granted the ability to produce them via blueprints with nessecary skills to alleviate those moments of grief when losing all that money. Of course many will say that will decrease the value of them, but this is a simple idea to implement because of the skills need would be more along lines of the Neural Enhancement and Science categories.

...where do you think implants come from? They're made from blueprints just like everything else, the difference is that, like Faction ships, there exist only copies, no originals.

And you are correct, if you were to make Bpos for implants, that would massively devalue them...usually well over 3/4 of the cost of an implant comes from the BPC price.

Um... this is egregiously incorrect, there are exactly zero blueprints anywhere for any Implants in Eve. All implants are either given out as one-time rewards through events (Genolutions, ect), dropped by sites/rats/missions/ect, or are sold by NPCs through LP stores.

OP, this would eliminate a large amount of value from quite a few forms of LP as well as tank the cost of implants. Half the point of implants is that they're expensive to lose, especially for high end ones. Having the skills needed to make more come from any area of SP training does not balance this fact out.

You're essentially asking for a massive drop in the price of implants, nothing more.

There is no need or reason for this, if you think implants are too expensive to lose then either use cheaper ones or otherwise avoid losing your expensive ones. Between Jump Clones and Citadels it's quite easy to never PvP in a clone you aren't willing to lose.

Well I can't really speak for any other implants, but I know 100% that the Ascendancy implants come from ghost sites as BPC drops.

Ascendancy seem to be the only ones players can build at this time - you can find the prints in contracts. Filter on Item Group Implant Blueprints.

Others are available as loot drops or loyalty points.

CCP can control the price with the bill of materials - BPC is only about 15% of the cost of an Ascendancy implant.

What I find interesting is they cram over 8000 M3 of PI into a 1 M3 implant which still seems pretty large for something you plug into your head!
