Been a few months since I played, and even when I did play, I was no experienced player, but I remember being able to click into empty space and find asteroid belts.

Now when I do this, there simple is no asteroid belts to jump too, no option at all even.
I'm probably just overlooking something, but, any advice? I've google'd the issue a bunch but to no clear answer at all.

Thanks.

Well you used to right click and pick a belt.

However not all systems have belts.

Like said above, not all systems have Belts. To find out for sure you can pull up the system's info by clicking the system's name in the top left hand corner then go to the orbital bodies tab. If no belts are listed, then the system is without belts.

This is true, but almost every highsec system has at least one. Is it possible you have switched to an overview tab without asteroid belts on it? Object will be clickable in space will only appear if your overview has them on them, including asteroid belts.

There are several preset tabs for your overview, and you can completely customize them. Here is some more information on the overview: https://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Overview

whilst a lot of the info there is very outdated

it's still a good way to look for specific systems to visit for belts
