I don't think you are thinking this through enough. As an Industrialist, I have several options to avoid the players that try to pew pew me. Sometimes, yes, I do get caught. Usually because they are better at playing the game than I am. I am better than some others and manage to avoid them. I have so many options open to me, to carry on doing what I am doing. I am surprised you cannot see them or appear to be so unwilling to accept those options.

That's good. I would expect players to improve, get better at assessing the environment, and live to tell the tale. Still, when you're caught and assploded.....what's your available options?

You're last line surprises me. Why do you assume I can't see them or am unwilling to accept those options? Simply because I'm making an argument in counterpoint to others?

Bad assumption.

I definitely don't mine. And I don't haul.....much. If I do, I don't get caught. Don't make the common Internet forum mistake of thinking a counter argument is more than simply a counter argument.

It's a skill to see more than a single side of an issue.

I am not Prencleeve Grothsmore.

If a few people do it, its a problem

If a lot of people do it, its a player made in-game event.

Your thinking too small, think more like a marketing exec.

That is in part the point with not seeing the entirety of it. By the time you're caught, your options are (almost) exhausted. The Industrial has lost at that point and they are at the mercy of the combat pilot. But you see, that is equivalent to an Industrialist having spent time controlling the market and ensuring the combat pilot pays the price the Industrialist dictates.

But the things that can be done before that point? There are quite a few. And that's the broader scope / entirety of it.

And let's face it, depending on ship, fit, situation, etc. escape is still an option. A slim one, from what I read, but hey? The universe is fluid.

Because your counterpoints sounds a lot like my ex. Apologies if that sounds harsh, but I've spent the last few days discussing monetary matters with her and no matter how many options I present she persists in seeing only the negative.

For example, you say you trust no-one and thus won't use the services of a mercenary corp. Fair enough, trust is a rare commodity. At the same time, the Mercenary corp is trying to maintain their reputation as mercenaries - not as pirates. Yes, there is a risk. But by asking around you will find the ones that are worthwhile using, right? The ones that are filling that niche in EVE Online.

So that, to me, seems like a counterpoint that is focussed on the problem, and not willing to look at the solution or the broader scope of it.

Why did you snip the part of the reply that agrees with your bounty idea?
