Better solution: stop caring about killmails.

That doesn't always work. Control range, travel time, etc.

NO.
Your job is to protect those in your fleet, if you want to shoot stuff and have a kill board then change to DPS.

I agree with you here but not because of the reasons you state.
If you are not using rep or ewar drones then you are not doing everything you can to aide the DPS ships in your fleet and that makes you a failure as a logi pilot in my book. To restate from above your job is to aide those in your fleet who are responsible for DPS you are not supposed to provide DPS.

My thoughts precisely, as logi your rewards come from other sources.
I have earned the trust and respect of every DPS pilot I have ever flown with and I am well compensated as a result of that. Some of that compensation comes as ISK, ships and other in game related stuff, part of it comes in real life things like gift certificates, cases of beer and of course the food of the gods PIZZA. When we as logi pilots can have all of this why do we need a stupid kill board?

So I end where I started NO to you and this crazy idea of needing to be on kill mails simply because you are a logi pilot.

.... its sad how much you care about KM. generally as a logi you don't want to be on the report at all.

Nothing stopping you generating millions of your own by unpacking and repackaging noob frigs and then fitting them.

Just remember to tell your gang that you are dropping a repper for a whore mod and spending your limited number of locked targets on getting kill mails.

Why do you care about killmails? If anything we need to get rid of killmails to improve the game.

Hmmm, you wouldnt happen to come from WoW would you?

I hear over there the healers are multispecd now, meaning they heal others according to how much DMG on target they are doing.

What I would love to see would be logi and links appearing on blue lossmails with amount repped. Would let me feel more pride in actually doing my job.

You still have times to shoot stuff and rep everybody in time.

Nice job, but then just sacrifice some highslot for this or a med-slot for a tp.

It's not a troll. It is a solution to your "problem". Logi doesn't exist to kill things - it exists to save your fleet from dying. If you want to get on KMs don't fly logi.

Sarcasm aside, kill mails really are the problem. Which do you care about more?

1. Winning the fight or accomplishing the objective, or
2. applying an epeen stroker to some website?

If the answer is two, just park yourself on a lowsec gate in a smart bombing proteus. You'll get plenty of killmails.

Eve is like an addiction; you can't quit it until it quits you. Also, iderno

Well let me answer your questions. First let me say that I really like flying logi, and fly it pretty much 100% of the time in fleets. I'd love to be able to just do my job, repair people, and get on the KMs. People have been requesting that for a decade, yet it hasn't been done. I was trying to think of a simple solution that could be coded in a week to help logi out.

To the people that said 'well you job is to rep'. I'm sorry you can only focus on one thing at a time in a fleet fight. I'm able to both repair the people that need it and follow the primary calls with a bouncer. As I stated before however, drone control range, warping around, etc makes using that drone and staying mobile an issue.

Why do I care about killmails? The same reasons everyone else does. It shows participation. I get the loss mail when I die in a logi, I was there doing my job, why do I only get the negative half? Most major alliances use the killboards to show fleet participation. Can you really not see that?

A. if you want to do DPS and logi use a T3

B. any time you are a dedicated logi ship and you are thinking of locking and shooting the primary you only open yourself up to a mistake of shooting a friendly or repping an enemy. It doesn't matter how good you are. No one wants a logi in their fleet more focused on KMs than keeping the fleet alive.

C. leave any alliance that is focused on KBs it will cause you yourself to become to focused on KBs. any of the major alliances i have been in only us KBs to asses fleet participation if they have noticed you have been missing from coms/chat/fleets in order to confirm not as a primary method. If you are as dedicated a logi and any good at it then they notice when you are there

what is with this person?

Back in the old days logi trying to whore on KM's got blapped by the fleet survivors or if the enemy got them simply was not given SRP.
