I'm working on becoming a viable Phoon pilot. Love the torps and would like to know more about which torps pilots use in pvp and why. I was in an engagement over the week end and found that range was an issue. Are Javelin Torpedoes the way to go for the increased range?
Thanks in advanced.

Javelin torpedoes have one penalty that makes those useless, you ship velocity goes down, so you want more range to get in range but then you ship is slower and makes it even harder to get in range.

Usually not worth to put those in.

Sometimes those may be useful in stealth bombers.

The key to success with the torp-Typhoon is to get them in range and keep them there. It's pretty fast for a BS, but you will need to use neuts, webs, and other things to hold your target down. If you're being kited by a Vagabond or similar that is constantly staying out of range, you're pretty much screwed. You can try javelins, but chances are they won't be good enough.

Pick engagements carefully!
